JUST "SAY NO" TO AL GORE THE CRAZY MAN !

COME ON AL, BLOW OUT ALL THAT HOT AIR YOU KEEP PREACHING ABOUT.

AL GORE IS HATED BY SO MANY AND IT REALLY SHOWS. Before you even read the article below, look at all these comments about him. LOL
I hope all the world will turn their back on this loser ! He has certainly earned it. HYPOCRITE!

Didn't Al Gore's family make their money from strip mining operations?

I'm not joking.

When is the media going to stop being the mouthpiece of Al Gore's propaganda? When will they stop taking him seriously?

Gore's award-winning movie was found to be full of inaccuracies and lies (for instance, CO2 increases AFTER a rise in temperature, not the other way around).

Gore and company took a fleet of limos a couple blocks to get an award for his environmental propaganda movie.

Gore demands to speak before the U.S. Senate, but refuses to take questions from Senators who might disagree wit him (this is called "intellectual cowardice", or if you're a liberal, it's called, "I'm right, damnit!").

Gore's home burns 12 times as much energy as an average home. It is a model of excess and waste (George Bush, on the other hand, had a home built that is a model of environmental stewardship).

In spite of his continued record as a hypocrite and a fraud, the media keep putting Gore on a pedestal. So what if he won a Nobel Peace Prize...so did Yasser Arafat.

Give it up, Algore! Nobody cares about a phoney issue, and, as more and more evidence comes in that proves that you're lying for profit, you're becoming more and more of a joke...albiet not a very funny one.

Can you believe this guy was almost President? He ought to be arrested and sued for trying to perpetuate the biggest fraud on mankind. There is NO global warming. The earth is cooling. CO2 emissions are readily absorbed by plants for oxygen. Earth IS a great natural recycler. That is the TRUTH! Al Gore will not debate scientists who disagree, or anyone, for that matter because he would be exposed for what he is for all to see. He is invested in companies that will produce the green products we will be forced to buy. (Like he needs MORE money.) He does not live a green lifestyle. He craves attention. His family continues to make money in big oil and other investments that he says he is against. He is desperate to see this legislation passed this year because next year is an election cycle and Cap & Trade would have even less of a chance of getting passed. Al Gore is the ultimate hypocrite! In fact, the Dems don't believe in climate change any more than I do. They just want the billions in revenue from the sale of permits and the ability to further control the population. Even Queen Nancy said we need Cap & Trade because "We need the revenue". That says it all for me.

Environmentalism and the global warming alarmism is challenging our freedom. Al Gore is a Major Problem in this movement."Environmentalism and the global warming alarmism is challenging our freedom".I'm afraid that the current crisis will be misused for radically constraining the functioning of the markets and market economy all around the world," Stop Al Gore and all his freaks who are out to destroy America. Tell your teachers to teach Math and not waste your tax dollars on brain washing your children on Global Warming.

"the single largest source of new electricity generation in America has been wind," said Gore.

Maybe, and most of the wind has come from his mouth. I have a feeling he has to go on tours and stay away from home. If he doesn't then Tipper just might introduce him to another needed change "divorce".

Just another failed politician out to sell some snake oil, at least Bob Dole just tried to sell viagra, and Clinton has accepted the she is unelectable.

Al Gore has come up with a pack of lies and is milking his publicity for all it is worth. The scientific community, especially the science journals are busy milking too as they are mum on the key aspects which debunk the global warming theory. Why did the temperature of the earth rise during 1940 and 1970 and started falling after that? Please explain.
Does warming have any effect on the 70 percent of earth's surface which is water? It will result in more clouds because of heat which will result in rain and cool the earth, but the reverse is true too. There will be fewer clouds because of intense heat! Which is happening or will happen if the temperature rises further? Nobody knows.
Press and Science Journals, please shut out Al Gore. When the global warming theroy has finally been proven wrong, he may not be around. But he has already milked the lies for all their worth. Stop this from happening!

It is beyond my comprehension why people continue to vote for the democratic party. Look at what people like Gore are doing. Look at what slime balls Bill and Hillary are. Look at this guy Murtha, and Blago, and Rham and Durbin, and Kennedy, and Mr. KKK Robert Byrd. Say what you will about Bush and Cheney but they are nothing by comparrison to the creeps that get elected by those that follow the democrat path. And now we have the new man in DC that is nationalizing, socializing and is a proponant of the whack jobs that believe in this global warming nonsense. And by the way, note that the people that are pushing for cap and trade are all from California. They couldn't care less about what goes on in Ohio or the rust belt. Kill the coal industry. No more nuclear power plants, no offshore drilling. What is wrong with people that they continue to give these creeps the power to destroy the basis of freedom in this country.

I think Al Gore is falling behind on his payments for that great energy wasting mansion of his and he needs some income.

Posted by peanut1000 on 05/25/09 at 11:33AM
When Al Gore does more than do as I say and not as I do, I might pay attention. In otherwords, Al Gore needs to park his private jet and drive only a putt-putt car that gets 60 miles to the gallon. He also must turn the power off in his mega mansions and only use solar or wind power to take care of all his electric needs. To do anything less is hypocritical. Just another political elite stealing the tax money of the real working people for his own benefit and the benefit of this money hungry friends.

Al Gore is a buffoon, a fraud and one of the most irresponsible ever to hold public office.

If Agore doesn't get his agenda in place very soon, people will realize that the earth is COOLING, not warming. Nobody will give this fool the time of day after that.

Posted by proteus48084 on 05/25/09 at 11:46AM
Al (Living Large) Gore's global warming is simply a money grab to enrich himself and his buddies within the Democratic Party.

Following through on what he has to say will merely cause the massive transfer of financial resources to useless ends (not to mention that he and his ilk will get in the way of some of this money).

I'll believe that global warming is real when I see Gore, Waxman, Markley and Pelosi (among others) behind the wheel of a Prius and flying on a commercial airline on a daily basis.

Posted by frankinphx on 05/25/09 at 11:48AM
This despicable creep will eventually get his way and there's nothing anybody can do about it. The time to stop this moron was back in 1992 when the idiotic American public decided to elect a sleazeball as their leader and we're still, to this day, paying that price. This is just one more example. Now, they've gone and done it again, with all their brilliance and elected the most unqualified candidate they can find who is now saddling the nation with staggering debt and socialist programs that will most likely bankrupt the nation. Congratulations America! You deserve what you're getting for being so stupid.

Gore is a blithering idiot who preys upon the ignorant and uneducated. His only path to success is through the force of government; clearly not the free market. Gore and his fellow Marxists including many voters, congressmen and lobbyists, could not make a dime peddling his phony `global warming’ in the free market arena. It might work if only his unsubstantiated theories about `global warming’ could be proven correct; but like most mental cases who promote `feel good’ nonsense, they are doomed to failure in the free market unless government compels purchase.

Posted by Yukiko on 05/25/09 at 12:08PM
Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore.... Not a good way to open a story. The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to this man has changed this award from prestigious to insignificant. This man is doing nothing more than prospering on manufactured misery. All the while living a life style of environmental excesses. His motto might as well be: Do as I say, not as I do.

Posted by GoredSilly on 05/25/09 at 12:25PM
OK - I'm 100% with everyone who thinks Gore is an idiot and who thinks that this whole man-made global warming thing is a piece of crap. So, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? Congress is getting ready to pass an energy bill that's going to tax people for carbon usage. Are you squawking to congress about it? Making comments on a website is great but without action, we'll all be paying a lot more in the coming years to solve a problem that doesn't exist. And we can all blame blowhard Gore for that but he won't care as he gets richer and richer from promoting global warming.

Posted by anchorbeach on 05/25/09 at 12:40PM
Hey Al Gore shut up already.Your Man Made Global Warming is a hoax and is nothing more than a way for you leftist socialists to overthrow our free society. Cap and Trade? Let's cap the mouths of these politicians and trade them all in for new ones in 2010.
Stand up to these blowhards, they are purposely destroying our country from within. I know Gore is not in office, but there are plenty across the country we need to oust in 2010.
We need cheap energy and we have it domestically everywhere, but are denied for no good reason except to handcuff the American people from attaining our personal prosperity.

In the late 70's and early 80's the "experts" were predicting we were on our way into another Ice-Age and there was even talk of dumping soot on the polar caps to melt some of the ice. Now, 30 years later, we have "global warming" brought to us by that world renowned inventer of the internet Al Gore.
If so-called "greenhouse gases" are causing "global warming" shouldn't there have been a steady increase in temperature since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution? Global Warming is as much a farce as Gore and his limo driving entourage!

Posted by hdame on 05/25/09 at 1:37PM
Not only is AlGorelioni a fraud but the whole rest of the idiotic party he belongs to are unscientific morons. For example, Princess Pelosi scrambled off to China to save the world from Global Warming. Accompanying her was that fearless hero of viet Nam, John Kerrey. The real tragedy is that nearly all of the Media is as ignorant of scientific method as this "Nobel Prize" winner who also invented the Internet and was the model for the movie "Love Story." Wow, what a guy!

Perhaps we should waterboard Al Gore to find out how much corruption $'s and side friens/family stock deals he is getting from promoting his FRAUDULENT glomal warming nonsense. Follow the money, it also leads to the source. And for Mr Malgore, it probably leads straight to a fortune extrated from regular American folks who will now have to pay their mobster "shakedown" money recently enacted to the fraulent Energy Bill that Obama and his Democrat National Socialist party friends in Congress are forcing The CAP AND MEGA TAX scheme on hard working, tax paying Americans.

Please go to watts up with that.com and read the article"Renewable Energy-Our Downfall" for the straight proof Al Gore is plumb nuts!

Someone here mentioned the Gore family was or is into strip mining. That may be, but there is ample proof his father Al Sr. was a big initial investor, along with Armand Hammer (the Russian), in Occidental Petroleum Company. My guess is they still have substantial family holdings in this Oil Company.

I would hope everyone goes with me to the next Tea Party to protest this "global warming" bs and offer to take a pitchfork to any congressman voting for it!

Posted by sbarra1 on 05/25/09 at 3:09PM
I don't accept his premise that there is man made global warming. I can call up more scientist to refute his claim then he can bring up to extole it. What we should have is Al Gore give his proof under oath, with the penalty of life imprisonment because the ramifications of this will cost governments into the trillions of dollars and more when you consider lost jobs etc. etc. Better yet lets give this bloated failed politician a trillion dollars and a couple of years to raise the temperature of earth anyway he can.He knows all the reasons why the earth is getting warmer. This should put an end to the question of mans involvement with the rising temps. If he can't do it lets publicly tar and feather him and be finished with the argument. I am sure he will accept either way because he is so sincere and has such genuine concern for the planet,...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is just a huckster and this is all about him and money, like father like son.

Obama's cap-and-trade is pay back to the environmentalist elite for their votes in the November election. Political corruption pure and simple! Gore will enrich himself, along with his allies Waxman and Pelosi of California is Cap-And-Trade is passed. America will loose its competitiveness and millions of jobs will be lost if cap-and-trade is passed. Based on a MIT study, the cost of this cap in trade legislation will cost he average American houshold over $3300 annually. Instead of DRILLING NOW or tapping into America's extremely cheap natural energy resources like coal, using CLEAN COAL technology, expanding cheap nuclear energy, the elitists want to tax us to death! We get over 70% of our energy in America from coal. Coal technology is now extremely clean and is the cheapest energy source available and best of all, it is ours and it is EXTREMELY plentiful! Then there's the oils reserves that we have right here at home, yet, we are dependent on buying oil from an enemy simply because Al Gore and his elitist friends can continue to enrich themselves! Call your Representatives in this out of control Washington and make your voice be heard! Vote DOWN Cap-and-Trade or we will lose millions more American jobs.

Posted by GlobeSailing on 05/25/09 at 4:05PM
Got to give it to this fraud. Al Gore knows how to make money! First the book - made millions. The movie - made millions, then the carbon footprinte exchange - making him millions as we speak. Now he gets the greatest payoff in his money making scheme through the payback Obama is giving him and his California's left coast wako liberals bedfellows, Waxman and Pelosi through the cap and trade. VOTE DOWN CAP AND TRADE! This bill will kill America's competiveness in the world and millions of American jobs, all the while Al Gore enriches himself and his elitist allies.

Al Gore is a lying fool, lining his pocket with this foolish notion of global warming. Please stop writing stories about him.

Posted by parker1227 on 05/25/09 at 4:29PM
Cap and Trade energy taxes are expected to cost the average family between $1,500 and $2000 a year in increased energy costs. That is not including the HUGE negative macro-economic impact Cap and Trade will have on American companies trying to compete with India and China who aren't going to tax the "electrons" out of their "evil" energy producers and consumers.

But just to make things worse, democrats in congress are now handing out cap/trade exemptions to all companies who agree to "play ball", (read: give big campaign donations to democrats in the future).

Stop the insanity now! No Cap and Trade taxes. Demand energy security using an all-of-the-above strategy. More drilling, more nuclear, clean coal, more refineries and investment in future tech - which has not proven to be economical or scale-ready yet.

Don't let the Democrats play with our lives and well being based on the rantings of a fool like Al Gore who doesn't even have the guts to debate his claims in an open forum.

It is being used as a tool to advance Socialism and to redistribute wealth from rich to poor nations and from rich to poor individuals in this country. Algore is brilliant because he's selling this crap to us and he stands to make billions from it.

Our current administration consists of some of the biggest fools out there. How big you ask; we're exporting nuclear technology to the UAE (for peaceful purposes, of course) but we say no to nukes at home. Instead, Obama & co. try to tell us that we can solve our energy problems with windmills and solar panels. Those are the real idiots; along with Gore.

I don't think many people realize it but Al Gore has probably Never worked in a Real job, he was raised in a Hotel apparently and has benefits so he really doesn't have to work, the Money he gets is probably donated to his former or next campaign or his income from Oil Leases on his Family Property, owned by Armand Hammer, the Occidental Oil Company, I Believe and he may be Related by Marriage to that man's family,
He also, btw has really said only what Other people have said about Oil and Pollution which is not consistent with Science as far as Reality,
Yes, much Pollution goes into the atmosphere, however it is not as bad as he says, nor is it as Sure that he and his SUpporters are Correct.
The Truth is that a Major Cause of Global Warming seems to be the cause, and it has not been verified nor discussed,
The Factor I refer to is called Precession of the Earth's Orbital axis which rotates in a Complete Circle around its precessional axis as does the Rotational Axis of a Gyroscope.
IT will cause the atmosphere to exhibit Global Warming I believe every 13000 Years, and seemingly the Axis is now Tangent or close to Tangent to the Elliptical Orbit of Earth when the Earth is Closest to the Focus of that ellipse where the Sun Is Located,
Normally, although the Earth Receives equal radiation from the SUn at each location on the Elliptical ORbit, at this particular Segment of the Elliptical Orbit, the Warming of the Sun hits the Earth with Equal Warming at the Polar Regions as it Rotates throughout each day, and this gives more long lasting melting of the Polar Regions so that the Polar Regions Melt more Completely during that time the Earth is at that Segment of the Elliptical ORbit and also on the Other side of the Ellipstical Orbit, giving the Greatest Decline of Negative Latent HEat stored at the POles
This results in Probably Milder Prevaiing Winds, Warmer Northern Climes Resulting in Better Farming Results in the More Northern Parts, more work days in the Northern US, Better Fishing in the Eastern Fishing Grounds as the Fish from More Southern Waters have begun to move Northward in the Last several Years, this Information is from Newspaper Reports and from Television Reports.
THis is really good for the US and for the World,
So all is not lost, its a benefit and the SO Called Need for Environmental Technology is a Power and Economic Money Grab for the Media Corporate Holder Corporations and Al Gore is just Helping out the Manufacturers so they can Force Feed you Global Warming Technology and Steal Dollars from you and the Rest of the world,

Gore calls on world business leaders to push for climate deal

NEW YORK -- Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore on Sunday urged a gathering of more than 500 business leaders to push for a global agreement on curbing global warming pollution, saying "Mother Nature does not do bailouts."

"The market signals on energy are badly misleading and wrong. We do not take into account the cost of pollution," Gore told the meeting of chief executives from global industry giants, including PepsiCo Inc.

"If there is no cost to be paid for the indiscriminate dumping of pollution into the earth's atmosphere, then it should be a surprise to no one that today we will dump another 70 million tons of global warming pollution into the thin shell of atmosphere surrounding our planet," Gore said.

"But there is good news, because the world's business community is beginning to respond," said Gore, whose address was shown via a live Web cast from the Copenhagen Climate Council's Web site. See site:
www.copenhagenclimatecouncil.com

The three-day World Summit on Climate Change meeting, which began Sunday in Copenhagen, comes in advance of December talks to determine what will replace the Kyoto climate treaty that expires in 2012.

While the United States is far behind Denmark, where nearly one quarter of the energy produced comes from wind, in each of the last two years "the single largest source of new electricity generation in America has been wind," said Gore.

Gore told the gathering it made sense to have the business community gather six months ahead of political leaders, saying "it is critically important that we get the rules of the marketplace correct so we can make decisions both in the political realm and the business realm that will allow us to live our lives in a way in keeping with which we know to be right."

Saying there remained time to act to avoid the direst consequences of global warming, Gore called for rapid action to stem the problem.

"We have to do it this year, not next year. Mother Nature does not do bailouts," the former vice president said.

AL GORE & HIS ENVIROMENTALISTS IDIOTS WANT TO CONTROL OUR LIVES & WILL MAKE YOU PAY

If the cap and trade bullshit passes then every single person in this country will pay out there ass for energy in the future. Our light bill, gas bill for heating, our gasoline and everything we use will go up. The utility companies will just pass the increase they will have to pay to supply us with energy. Grocery stores and department stores and almost every thing we do in life will cost us more when the CRAZY LUNITICS in Washington get done with us. They want to control everything we do in life. If people in this country don't stand up to these crazy people things will only continue to get worse day by day. Get with the program people. Speak up about all this crap going on before it is too late. DAMN WASHINGTON AND ALL THE CROOKS IN OUR GOVERNMENT ! ASSHOLES !

Rain or Shine, Environmentalists Want to Control Us
By Dan Gainor Vice President Business & Media Institute

This is the winter of environmentalists’ discontent. They desperately want the earth to be warming to prove Al Gore’s truth inviolate and they are going to make you pay thousands of dollars for it no matter whether it’s true or not.

But the weather has been inconveniently cold. Thirty-two states have experienced record or near-record lows this winter –- poking holes in the predictions of imminent fiery doom. Just ask the die-hard global warming activists who showed up in Washington last week to protest the nation’s use of coal. Their event was hampered by nearly a foot of snow in the nation’s capital –- enough to freeze out luminaries like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

The climate debate isn’t just about temperature, European Union President Vaclav Klaus told the gathering of scientists and public policy experts at the International Conference on Climate Change. He said “environmentalists want to change us and our behavior” because “their mission is control.”

Still, there they were, a couple thousand idiots standing in a winter wonderland, chanting about global warming. What’s amazing is that NASA’s climate chief James Hansen was part of this foolishness. Here we have a man who the left keeps telling us is so smart we need to listen to everything he says and he doesn’t have the public relations sense of a freshman communications major.

I have a news flash for Mr. Hansen –- it gets cold in the winter. Sometimes it snows –- even in Washington. If you want to promote global warming, look at a thermometer and wait until that red stuff climbs up real high.

This would seem the basis of a good strategy. Cede the winter months to your critics and opponents and keep the global warming activism to times when you might actually get warm weather.

Only a fool would hold a global warming event in a foot of snow –unless he or she was desperate.

That desperation might get to the heart of the issue. Hansen recently told Britain’s Observer that time was running out –- fast. “We have only four years left for Obama to set an example to the rest of the world.” Prince Charles, a fellow alarmist with a scientific resume as microscopic as Al Gore’s, recently declared we have “less than 100 months to act” on climate change.
But four years, eight years or Gore’s much-cited 10 years all add up to one thing. It’s not the planet that’s running out of time — it’s the environmentalists. The warming of the earth has flatlined like Tom Daschle’s political career.

In fact, now the theme –- even from the global warming camp is … (drum roll, please) we could have up to three decades of cooling. Michael Reilly, of Discovery News, summed it up well: “Earth’s climate continues to confound scientists.” He quoted a new study by Kyle Swanson of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, saying “global warming may have hit a speed bump and could go into hiding for decades.”

Just as the global warming reality is cooling, the opposition is heating up. This week marked the second annual “International Conference on Climate Change” in New York, sponsored by The Heartland Institute. It brought together hundreds of climate skeptics from around the world and was headlined by European Union President Vaclav Klaus.

Klaus got to the heart of the matter during his opening night address. The climate debate isn’t just about temperature, he told the gathering of scientists and public policy experts. He said “environmentalists want to change us and our behavior” because “their mission is control.”

They are working hard to take that control. Forget the laughably inept Kyoto treaty. Environmentalists and politicians are working to give birth to its bastard child of a successor in Copenhagen this December. The midwives are already prepping for the birth of this Frankenstein baby in the run up to the G-20 conference in April.
Advocates want the meeting of some of the world’s powerhouses to focus not just on economics but on going green. That way they can show they have all the major nations working together.
That’s not the only push for quick action. Denmark’s minister for climate and energy, Connie Hedegaard, is urging Obama to ram through global warming laws prior to Copenhagen and Obama looks like he is doing just what he was asked to do. His cap-and-trade proposal is already on deck despite criticism that it will cost an already damaged economy an average of $2,180 a year. Even Obamaphile Warren Buffett says such a tax is “pretty regressive.” What does that mean? Essentially that ordinary people will pay through the nose for cap-and-trade while elitists fly around and tell us how to live.

With Democratic control of Congress virtually a lock, cap-and-trade could fly through Congress faster than lies fly out of a politician’s mouth. Just in time, perhaps, to encounter a problem that may well be going the opposite direction for 30 years.

DR. JAMES HANSON IS A SCUMBAG LIAR LIKE AL GORE

This man is out of his mind. No coal to heat our homes with, no coal? People will not be able to pay for their heating bills as without coal there is not an alternate and the MESSIAH is wanted to pass a new tax on energy companies that will of course be passed on to consumers. We have a mad man in the whitehouse that is trying really hard to appease every damn group out there with a cause. It is these groups that have caused so many problems for America as a whole and now we have a commander n thief that is robbing us.
WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO STAND UP AND SPEAK LOAD TO THAT ONE AND TO THESE DAMN GROUPS THAT ARE TRYING SO VERY HARD TO BRING AMERICA DOWN. DAMN THEM ALL AND THE DONKEYS THEY RODE IN ON.

NASA's Climate Chief Calls for Civil Disobedience by Warming Advocates
NASA's chief climate scientist is fending off criticism from colleagues and at least one lawmaker after calling on citizens to engage in civil disobedience at a recent global warming protest.

NASA's chief climate scientist is in hot water with colleagues and at least one lawmaker after calling on citizens to engage in civil disobedience at what is being billed as the largest public protest of global warming ever in the United States.

In a video on capitolclimateaction.org, Dr. James Hansen is seen urging Americans to "take a stand on global warming" during the March 2 protest at the Capitol Power Plant in Southeast Washington, D.C.

"We need to send a message to Congress and the president that we want them to take the actions that are needed to preserve climate for young people and future generations and all life on the planet," says Hansen, who has likened coal-fired power plants to "factories of death" and claims he was muzzled by the Bush administration when he warned of drastic climate changes.

"What has become clear from the science is that we cannot burn all of the fossil fuels without creating a very different planet. The only practical way to solve the problem is to phase out the biggest source of carbon — and that's coal."

But critics say Hansen's latest call to action blurs the line between astronomer and activist and may violate the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from participating in partisan political activity.

"Oh my goodness," one of Hansen's former supervisors, Dr. John Theon, told FOXNews.com when informed of the video. "I'm not surprised ... The fact that Jim Hansen has gone off the deep end here is sad because he's a good fellow."

Theon, a former senior NASA atmospheric scientist, rebuked Hansen last month in a letter to the Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee, saying Hansen had violated NASA's official position on climate forecasting without sufficient evidence and embarrassed the agency by airing his claims before Congress in 1988.

"Why he has not been fired I do not understand," Theon said. "As a civil servant, you can't participate in calling for a public demonstration. You may be able to participate as a private citizen, but when you go on the Internet and call for people to break the law, that's a problem.

Officials at the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, which investigates possible Hatch Act violations, disagreed, saying Hansen is in the clear since it's an "issue-oriented activity," according to Hatch Unit attorney Erica Stern Hamrick.

The majority of federal government employees are allowed to take an active part in political activities, while workers at other departments like the FBI, Secret Service and National Security Council are subject to more restrictions on their political activities.

NASA spokesman Mark Hess also defended Hansen.

"He's doing this as a private citizen on his own time and there's nothing wrong with that," Hess told FOXNews.com. "There's nothing partisan here. You don't give up your rights to free speech by becoming a government employee."

Matt Leonard, a project coordinator for Greenpeace, one of more than 90 organizations endorsing the protest, said several thousand people are expected to participate and "peacefully disrupt operations" at the plant just blocks from Capitol Hill.

Participants are willing to "put their bodies on the line to stop climate change," including risking arrest, Leonard said.

"Our intention is to completely surround the facility, basically sending a message that these types of power plants can't be a part of our future," Leonard said. "They're destroying our environment."

Hansen will be in attendance and is expected to speak at the "completely nonviolent, peaceful" protest, Leonard said.

Meanwhile, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., urged Hansen to rethink his plans.

"If he wants to have a demonstration concerning global warming, coming to the Capitol is not a right choice," Rohrabacher told FOXNews.com. "The bottom line is if Hansen wants to protest global warming, he should go to the National Cathedral and take it up with God rather than going to Capitol Hill."

Rohrabacher, a member of the House's Committee on Science and Technology, called on Hansen to "step out" of his role.

"He obviously doesn't feel comfortable with the restraints that come with being a scientist rather than a political activist," Rohrabacher said. "Most of us have always thought he has been hiding behind a scientific facade, and really, he was a political activist all along."

Chris Horner, author of "Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud, and Deception to Keep You Misinformed," also denounced Hansen's latest call to arms against climate change.

"He's providing ample cause to question his employment on the taxpayer dime," Horner told FOXNews.com. "He's clearly abused his platform provided to him by the taxpayer, principally by the way he's been exposed of manipulating and revising data with the strange coincidence of him always found on the side of exaggerating the warming."

Horner claimed that Hansen doctored temperature data on two occasions in 2001 and once in 2007 in attempts to show an impending climate catastrophe.

"He's creating an upward slope that really wasn't there," Horner said. "At some point you have to say these aren't mistakes."

Hansen, who did not respond to repeated requests for comment on this story, was most recently honored for his work last month with the 2009 Carl-Gustaf Rossby Research Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the American Meteorological Society.

"Jim Hansen is performing a tremendous job at communicating our science to the public and, more importantly, to policymakers and decision-makers," Franco Einaudi, director of the Earth Sciences Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, said in a press release.

"The debate about global change is often emotional and controversial, and Jim has had the courage to stand up and say what others did not want to hear. He has acquired a credibility that very few scientists have. His success is due in part to his personality, in part to his scientific achievements, and in part to his refusing to sit on the sidelines of the debate."

Former Vice President Al Gore, who toured with Hansen while promoting "An Inconvenient Truth," did not return repeated requests for comment for this article.

Capitol Climate Action
“I can’t understand why there aren’t rings of young people blocking bulldozers and preventing them from constructing coal-fired power plants.” - Al Gore

Coalition Response to Call for Switch to Natural Gas at Capitol Power Plant
Capitol Climate Action Day, Biggest Civil Disobedience on Climate in U.S. History, to Go Forward
Today, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid released a letter asking the Capitol Architect to switch the Capitol Power Plant from coal to 100 percent natural gas by the end of 2009. Pelosi and Reid’s call comes just three days before more than 2,500 people from across the country are coming to converge at the power plant for the biggest civil disobedience on climate issues in U.S. history. Prior to the announcement of the Capitol Climate Action, pro-coal legislators had been able to prevent the switch from coal to natural gas.

“Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid’s dramatic action shows that Congress can act quickly on global warming when the public demands it,” said Greenpeace Deputy Campaigns Director Carroll Muffett. “This move demonstrates that they recognize the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for a switch to cleaner energy sources.”

“The more than 2,500 people coming to Washington to call for a solution to the climate crisis and an end to the use of coal are still coming because the climate is still in crisis and coal is still driving that crisis,” said Michael Brune, Executive Director of the Rainforest Action Network. “Today’s move reflects Congress’s growing awareness that the public is demanding change.”

“Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid today showed the power of grassroots action,” said Mike Tidwell, executive director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network. “That grassroots action is going to continue until Congress passes legislation that solves the climate crisis.”

For more information on the Capitol Climate Action, global warming, and coal, visit www.capitolclimateaction.org . The initial rally for the Capitol Climate Action will meet on March 2nd at 1:00pm in Spirit of Justice Park (C St. SW and Capitol St SE, two blocks west of Capitol South Metro).

James Hansen is a NUT CASE~CALL THE MEN WITH THE WHITE JACKETS QUICK !

And I thought AL WHORE was bad ??

Even the realization of Al Gore's dream of "capping" carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants wouldn't satisfy NASA's James Hansen. He wants to shut them all down, despite the untold human misery such hysterical action would inevitably bring. And toward that preposterously unattainable end he is now pushing panic buttons with the alacrity of a man truly possessed.

In a wild rant in Sunday's Guardian responding to British Prime Minster Gordon Brown's green-lighting of the controversial Kingsnorth power plant, the head of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies managed to outdo even his own sophomoric guilt trips and fear-mongering. Repeating last year's call for a moratorium on British coal-fired plants, which he has since extended to Angela Merkel, Barack Obama, Kevin Rudd and others, Hansen branded coal as "the single greatest threat to civilisation and all life on our planet."

He insisted "that the coal source must be cut off" as "a cap only slows the use of a fuel - it does not leave it in the ground." Calling for a "phase-out of coal," Hansen even restated references to the plants as "factories of death," and trains carrying the black rocks to them as "death trains," the latter a toned-down adaptation of these outrageously offensive words he laid on the Iowa Utilities Board back in October of 2007:

"If we cannot stop the building of more coal-fired power plants, those coal trains will be death trains - no less gruesome than if they were boxcars headed to crematoria, loaded with uncountable irreplaceable species."

That he continues to evoke dreadful Nazi Death Camp imagery - however restrained - betrays a mind obsessed beyond reason. Indeed, when R. Naasz, president of the National Mining Association, protested "the [2007] suggestion that coal utilization for electricity generation can be equated with the systematic extermination of European Jewry is both repellant and preposterous," Hansen replied that Naasz "[did] not wish to have the message about the grave future consequences of unrestrained growth in coal-fired power plants publicly stated." Needless to say, he supported his signature straw man argument by blasting "increasing human-made greenhouse gases" as not only "a threat to humanity," but also the "predominant cause of extinction of species."

Of course, horror fans immediately recognize Origin of Species Extinction as a recurring theme in many a Hansen spook-story. Remember how last year's testimony that opening Kingsnorth would lead to the extinction of no less than "400 species" helped convince an OJ-caliber British jury that the criminal vandalism to the plant by six Greenpeace activists was "proportionate response" to the environmental damage the plant would have inflicted upon the region?

But in an effort to inflate the danger to over half of all species globally during Sunday's appeal to Brown, Hansen invoked previous warming periods: [emphasis mine]

"The most threatening change, from my perspective, is extermination of species. Several times in Earth's history, rapid global warming occurred, apparently spurred by amplifying feedbacks. In each case, more than half of plant and animal species became extinct.

Hansen asserted that previous periods of warming were caused by unspecified "amplifying feedbacks," having previously insisted that "the mechanisms causing planetary energy imbalance and global temperature change are the ice-albedo and GHG feedbacks," both of which "are now under control of humans." Yet, the most recent warming period -- prior to the one apparently concluded in 1998 -- was the Medieval Warm Period which ended half a millennium before the industrial age that spawned greenhouse gas-emitting machinery ever began.

Forgive me, but I doubt one need be a rocket (or, for that matter, a climate) scientist to appreciate the sophistry at play here.

Nevertheless, Hansen is so cock-sure that we're experiencing a warming era both unique and enduring, he concluded that "Clearly, if we burn all fossil fuels, we will destroy the planet we know," raising the "sea level 75 metres higher." That's over 12 times Al Gore's hysterically-driven 20 foot prediction and over 120 times the IPCC's "worst-case" prognosis. Clear? Yeah - as mud. Say Jim, just how "clear" will the wellbeing of the "planet we know" be should we heed your hysterical demands to decommission those plants with no immediately available and viable replacement for the vital power they generate?

Behold Hansen's alternate energy plan, as illustrated in a March 2008 letter to Duke Energy CEO James E. Rogers, after imploring the power honcho not to proceed with plans to build 2 new plants, claiming they'd be a waste of money. Explaining his sudden concern for Duke's bottom line, he wrote "we have already passed the limit for CO2" necessary to prevent reaching "tipping points," the effects of which include "intensified regional climate extremes" and, of course, "extermination of countless species," therefore "coal-fired power plants built now without CO2 sequestration will soon have to be shut down." So what might fulfill their duty? Wrote Hansen:

"Near-term demands for energy can be satisfied via a real emphasis on energy efficiency and renewable energies. Neither carbon sequestration nor nuclear power can help in the near-term, and they both have serious issues even over the longer term."

Yes, carbon sequestration has "issues," not the least of which is lack of an economically and technologically viable design for both capture and long-term storage. And Hansen knows that, their recent carbophobic faux receptivity notwithstanding, bedrock greenies are not likely to renounce their engrained no-nuke ideology any time soon. So he's suggesting that we can replace our primary source of electricity with so-called "green technology."

Sounds great, but before investing in that windmill company, consider these current figures from the Energy Information Administration:

Coal-fired plants contributed 48.4 percent of the Nation's electric power, year-to-date. Nuclear plants contributed 19.4 percent, while 21.4 percent was generated at natural gas-fired plants. Of the 1.1 percent generated by petroleum-fired plants, petroleum liquids represented 0.8 percent, with the remainder from petroleum coke. Conventional hydroelectric power provided 6.4 percent of the total, while other renewables (biomass, geothermal, solar, and wind) and other miscellaneous energy sources generated the remaining 3.1 percent of electric power

Of all "renewables," hydroelectric currently stands alone as economically feasible. But with most plants relying on population-relocating dammed water to drive their turbines, it, too, has many detractors. Add limited potential new installation sites and rising green complaints of fish endangerment, and we're not likely to see hydroelectric's reach rise much beyond 6 percent any time soon. And its fellow renewables all require creative tax breaks in order to keep their limited energy flowing. In fact, the new "stimulus" bill includes $20 billion in renewable energy tax incentives, and up to a three year extension of the "production tax credit," a per-kilowatt-hour credit paid to green energy companies to offset the dismal unprofitability of their business models. Surely, the only "green jobs" these policies will create or save will evaporate the moment the plug is pulled on federal subsidies, as will any meager "green energy" they produce.

However they spin it -- Coal remains King. It supplies nearly half the juice with which we power our lights, our refrigeration, our communication and environmental equipment, our land and air traffic control systems, our life-saving medical equipment, and countless other instruments crucial to both civilization and human survival. Not to mention computers, including those Hansen uses to generate his questionable climate models and written fear-mongering of their results.

So James, might you kindly explain -- without mention of extinction or sea-level rise or ice sheet disintegration -- just how you propose we close these "factories of death" without synchronously opening a global arena of human want, suffering and ultimate demise?

It pains me to type this, but this guy's whacky ideas make even Al Gore's lunacy ring marginally sane.

Even after last week's annual American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) meeting, at which the Goracle likened his battle to stop global warming to that of 19th century abolitionists fighting to end slavery.

Indeed -- in gauging the measure of a movement, one need not delve far beyond its leadership.

AL GORE IS A MAD MAN ! and....getting worse by the day !

Al Gore must not get out much.

Or, when he does, he must get whisked quickly from his climate-controlled stretch limousines to the pressurized cabin of his private jets.

Or, he must be spending his time in Florida or the Caribbean or Hawaii.

He couldn't possibly be living in his home state of Tennessee anymore, where the temperatures have been pretty consistently below freezing the last week.

No, I know he wasn't in Tennessee at the time, because he was in Washington, D.C., testifying before Congress where all the schools were closed because of snow and ice and half of the so-called federal "workforce" couldn't brave the freezing conditions to get into the city.

Nevertheless, this guy is sticking to his panic-driven script that the sky is about to fall because of "global warming."

I guess if I staked my reputation on the fact that man-made catastrophic global warming is here, that we've reached the irreversible "tipping point" of permanent damage to the climate, I would be stepping up the rhetoric, too – because no one in their right mind is going to buy into this outrageous fear-mongering in a few years.

There are really only a few possible explanations for this guy's motivations:

He is so closely associated with this slipshod, unscientific theory, one that has made him profoundly wealthy and famous, that he recognizes he has reached a kind of personal irreversible "tipping point" of his own and there's no going back. He will have to ride this wave for as long as he can and make as much money as he can before fading into infamy and obscurity.
He has sold his soul to promote alarm and anxiety for the purpose of promoting global socialism. Note that he has recently taken to characterizing the economic crisis as an "opportunity" for "decisive action this year" on curbing carbon emissions. Yikes! Head for the hills.
He is stark raving bonkers.
All of the above.
I lean toward the last choice – and I am certain that he is, indeed, stark raving mad.

No one could carry the passion this guy has for such a preposterous, fake, phony, fraudulent charade unless he was certifiably insane.

If you doubt me, here are some quotes from Gore's testimony:

"We have arrived at a moment of decision. Our home – Earth – is in grave danger. What is at risk of being destroyed is not the planet itself, of course, but the conditions that have made it hospitable for human beings."
"We must face up to this urgent and unprecedented threat to the existence of our civilization. …"
"Most importantly, as long as we continue to depend on dirty fossil fuels like coal and oil to meet our energy needs, and dump 70 million tons of global warming pollution into the thin shell of atmosphere surrounding our planet, we move closer and closer to several dangerous tipping points which scientists have repeatedly warned … will threaten to make it impossible for us to avoid irretrievable destruction of the conditions that make human life possible on this planet."
I want you to try to imagine yourself saying these words to the Congress of the United States – with a straight face.

He actually believes, or says he believes, that man-made catastrophic global warming is going to make human life on the Earth impossible! No scientist in the world has ever made such an assertion. If one did, he would cease to be a scientist. Yet, this politician makes this assertion in Congress – and, for some reason, is not laughed out of the frozen Capitol.

In fact, Gore was well received by Democrats and even some Republican dupes.

So maybe the madness is contagious.

Or maybe this economic crisis – real or manufactured – really is an "opportunity" for all kinds of mischief in Washington.

But I still have to laugh at the hyperbole.

Gore is still blaming George W. Bush for not signing the Kyoto Protocol – the globaloney treaty that would commit the U.S. not only to fighting this phantom problem but picking up the tab. What's so funny about that? Because Gore was vice president for three years after that protocol was completed, and his own administration didn't sign it either!

Nevertheless, I suppose it is no laughing matter when so many powerful U.S. politicians are promoting economic suicide for America, claiming the end of the human race is nigh and only the benighted governments of the world, acting in harmony and in the best interests of civilization, must take draconian actions to centralize all authority and somehow cool the planet.

Er, what planet is this, again?
