DAVID LETTERMAN TALKS ABOUT UNGRATEFUL SPOILED AMERICANS

I caught this post on another blog today.
It really made you stop and think about Americans attitudes.

You Clowns will Pray Bush was still in Power.

David Letterman wrote this; it's the David we don't often see....

'As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.'
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President.. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'

A. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?

B. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?

D. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

E. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state.
F. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?

G. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.

H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

I. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.
J. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.

K. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.

L. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.

M. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?

Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?
Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' discharge after a few days in
the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?

Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it
this way......Insane!

Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New
York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.' 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, 'Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'
-David Letterman

I remember sitting in the British Bankers Club in Menlo Park, CA, early 80's, telling friends to watch this guy I thought was cute and funny, filling in for Johnny Carson, named David Letterman. One friend said she saw him and thought he was ugly but funny. I was a total Letterman fan after that for many, many years. I watched him almost every night, year after year, until... bam-he acted like a stupid liberal --for such an intelligent man, he bought into the liberalstupidology-one liners, and attacked my man O'Reilly. The attack, (in true liberal attack style with stupid stick to the talking points) was so ludicrous I have NEVER EVER - not for one minute watched him again. (I wonder if Noprah (she makes me puke) really does have some kind of "secret" powers -Letterman did this not too long after finally meeting her and taking her to some stupid event, (where I am sure those "burdened and socially/economically disadvantaged were not welcome, except to wash the dishes for "substandard pay."
AND one more thing Letterman, now that you have a child, you should understand, they can be a burden, but worth every minute of it! Isn't it amazing Letterman? I'll bet you can say Harry was the greatest thing that ever happened to you. Do you think Noprah has any clue what it feels like to be a parent and love someone way more than yourself? I am pro-choice, but for all these men to keep ranting (especially BO, geez ya gotta wonder if they had in vitro the way he carries on and on about what a burden children are)where was I, oh ya idocrats like Obama to keep telling (especially not very educated women) what a burden children are, you are putting that into mainstream thought, and thus dishonoring parenthood, planned or not, and making women feel even more pressured into an abortion, especially if you are economically disadvantaged -- he makes you feel like it is then your obligation to have one. That, my friends, is not freedom of choice.
So, David (and how I used to love to hear your dear sweet mom say "Daaavid") if you really wrote this, I will see if I can keep from vomiting and try and watch you. I have missed you, and I hope the creepy Oprah/Obama spell has worn off and you work towards truly making this country better, especially for my son and yours.

And one more thing Letterman, I am sure your baby's mamma is a bleeding heart liberal, so now that you know how amazing a child is, I have to speak up for my three brothers and my son: If your baby's mamma decided to have an abortion when Harry was 8.5 mos in the oven, and lil Harry came out alive -- ergo no longer a burden to her -- you give me one good reason why you shouldn't have been able to keep the lil fella, why she would have the power to have the dr. kill him after he came out. The lil dude made it that far, so let Pappa have him! But not Mr. raised by a poor white mom (whom had a PhD, so she was probably some 'intellectual' liberal that never worked an honest 40 hr. week for any length of time. I have scrubbed other peoples toilets in addition to my regular 40+ to care for my family) and a granny that mysteriously dies the night before the election -- (ya gotta wonder if the poor old woman was lying there trying to tell the world "i did my best but this dude is messed up") Anyhow, why shouldn't you "get to keep" Harry then? He is 1/2 yours too. I cannot believe people so blindly supported this monster. Think how the course of history would have changed if his liberal women's rights mom had chosen an abortion (which again I believe is a woman's right, but not when the baby is born alive for Christ's sake). And do not believe the lies that he did not vote for this, I am a self-taught legal assistant and I read the bill, and if Mr. Harvard educated lawyer claims he didn't understand the bill, well -- no wonder he wants his transcripts sealed.

It's so easy for multi-millionaires to talk like that.
Fact of the matter is we *are* in a recession, not headed to one. Those conveniences and services he talks about are eroding every day and/or the price of them is skyrocketing. From gas to electric to heating oil. We *do* have to show ID to traverse this continent, especially if you don't fly 1st class without touching the ground, and in the coming years with the Real ID act it will get worse. Our food supply is on the ropes compared to previous decades, and the stuff we do have 24/7 is poison. As is our water. Those cops he talks about protecting us with their guns and bulletproof vests are increasingly brutal to peaceful protesters and being used to silence the overwhelming dissatisfaction Americans are feeling, contrary to our 1st amendment rights. I don't own one flat screen TV, let alone many, so to be lectured by someone who does and also assumes I do is asinine. Let's remember who Letterman works for, CBS the all-seeing eye, so we know what type of propaganda he's spewing.. same way he bought into the whole "Giuliani is a hero" crap following the false flag terror attack on 9/11.

America has been good to Letterman and his ilk, at the top of the heap. The empirical, less sanitized facts permeating American life are less pleasant, often very ugly indeed.
I wonder if Letterman has any memories of struggling to put food on the table or making rent. The bubble that often comes to envelope celebrities provides fertile ground for the growth of myopia.
First, as with most that claim Bush kept America safe post 911, the genuinely stark reality is that he, along with every member of his inner circle, repeatedly ignored a steady stream of unprecedented and dire warnings of the approaching attacks - 40 in fact - one very specific about bin Laden determined to attack on American soil, and 11 from foreign intelligence services, a unique set of circumstances by any measure.
Following the 911 attcks, Bush was proclaimed a hero - an ideal example of manufactured reality.
Next, Americans are, indeed, spoiled by and large - but the gap between the rich and the poor is growing as never before. A well-disguised, elitist oligarchy dictates political agendas and national policy from behind the curtain. American democracy is a hoax by any sensible measure, a ruse, the grandest stage show and charade in human history, necessarily fashioned and maintained to create legitimacy by the puppetmasters among the shadows.
The "right/left" dichotomy, bickering and finger pointing are key aspects of the grand hoax. Control of the mainstream American media is equally important.
The American CIA, in addition to an array of black-ops and secretive para-military organizations, are the private armies and enforcers of American business interests on the world stage - with devestating human costs and consequences that most Americans are oblivious to. Most don't want to be bothered by pesky details as long as their pocketbooks and lifestyles are secure. The stunning, collective cost to humans of darker skin, speaking foreign languages and of different cultures is clearly not a factor in the American value system.
It's not allowed to be.
The United States devotes more to it's military that all other nations on planet earth - combined - yet the practical results are justified through a well-nurtured righteousness and blatant American arrogance. Information control and sanitized American history are key in the manufacture of loyalty and patriotism within the American psyche.
The United States makes up less than 4% of earth's population, yet consumes over 25% of the planet's resources. Worldwide, 80% of the earth's resources are consumed by the top 20% of the planet's humans. Nearly half of the world's remaining population does not have free access to clean drinking water or a toilet.
30,000 human children died yesterday from lack food, claen water or basic health care. 30,000 more will die today and 30,000 more will die tomorrow.
The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world. One in four American children live below the poverty line. Half of the adult American population is overweight, one on four is obese. Children are being medicated with pills as never before in history - many, beginning in the first grade.
Like the ancient Roman aristocrisy used the spectacle of the colosseum games to demonstrate it's power, most Americans are distracted and entertained by a sophisticated hierachy of never-ending ball games, races, tractor pulls and wrestling matches.
Agendas that would horrify most are being pursued by our self-appointed overlords and masters - on scales that are stunning and disguised as "mistakes" and "surprises".
Expect more. The bewildered herd will obey.
I love my country yet I fear my government - and if you don't - you're simply not paying attention.
Salute the flag and go shopping. Be a good American. It's easy when you believe power is truth.
