William Ayers is currently a professor of early education at the University of Chicago. He cofounded an organization called the Weather Underground in the late 1960's. That group became the more violent wing of SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) , and Ayers was eventually accused of involvement in several bombings in opposition to the Vietnam War. His relation to Obama is minimal. Apparently he once hosted a "coffee klatch" for Obama's run for the state senate. They lived in the same neighborhood, and ran into each other due to their shared passion for educational reform. Barack Obama was eight years old when the Weather Underground was active, and has denounced its past operations. The two do not speak to each other currently.

First of all, I'm not a democrat, and feel no need to squeeze myself into your little categories. I am no fan of the Clintons, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd or most of the congress.
What I wrote about Obama is exactly what I believe, and I consider the entire thing a ridiculous distraction. I have a long list of shady characters that are associated with John McCain, and I know you'd rationalize them away one by one, just as you accuse me of doing.
What it comes down to is that John McCain is erratic and irresponsible. I don't want World War III, and I don't want to vote another big oil/military-industrial complex ticket into the White House. That's why I'm choosing Obama. It has nothing to do with socialism or social programs.
So in my opinion, your support for McCain may usher in a living hell for all Americans, and I don't want to be in the position of having to say "I told you so". I've had enough of that from the cowboy in the office the last eight years.

President Bush had a lot on his plate to deal with right from the start. Had 9-11 not happened I do believe he would have been able to do so much more for America in a good way. He IS a decent and moral man and I admire him greatly. His wife is a wonderful lady and I have so enjoyed having President Bush as "MY PRESIDENT". May God bless him always. I am a compassionate person and I will not be a part of the basher group in this country today against a president of this country. I did not care for Clinton that much but he was the President of this great country and to be President of the greatest country in the world is an honor. John McCain is a decent and moral man. He put his life on the line for this country, he gave 5 years of his life for this country. He has worked in congress for years to do things that are for the betterment of this country. You call him a war monger if you want but that is one thing that he is not. You should have watched the documentary they had on CNN last week about oil companies. You might have learned something. Oil comopanies are not making as much as you might think they are. As far as your fear of some World War 3 coming to the fore front. It is actually already here in a sense. We did not cause it, the terrorists did.

I am a common everyday person and very proud of it.
I have had rough times in my life and have overcome them all so far. Still working on this breast cancer thing. Hoping God has other plans for me and will keep me in remission. Without God's help I would have never made it through the Chemo I had to endure. 6 treatments every 3 weeks and two stays in the hospital while doing the chemo. The surgery was easy and so were the 33 radiation treatments I went for everyday for 33 days straight.
Cancer will change your life forever. If you ever are handed a diagnosis you will learn from it and your views on life might change. I hope it never strikes you however. I would not wish that on anyone ever.
I saw my mom and my dad and one of my sisters battle the beast and lose. It was not pretty. I never thought much about cancer striking me much. I just always had those terrible memories of watching them
dwindle away to nothing. When I got the diagnosis I was overwhelmed somewhat but was ready to fight. I did just that.
I know this has nothing to do with who should or shoud not be President of this great country, but you know, it teaches you a lot about life and hope and people.
To see the faces of all the children doing their chemo in the chemo room and their parents there with them will break your heart.
To see all the people in the battle of their lives in these hospitals with cancer and other sickness they are dealing with will change you a lot. Not that my wonderful loving parents did not instill love and compassion in my heart and mind as I was growing up but after seeing so much suffering it makes you even more of a loving caring person.
I am proud of that. I feel good about me and who I am and what I believe in. That is all that really matters.

Obama has said many times already that he will bomb Pakistan. Pakistan is just as dangerous as Iran is. Obama has also mentioned bombing Iran as well. Do some more research. LOL

1. The deadliest foreign attack on US territory in history.
2. An impotent and failing attempt to capture the identified leader of that attack.
3. An invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation that presented no threat to the US.
4. A cover-up over the reasons why we attacked said nation.
5. The steady erosion of civil liberties.
6. A power grab that has made the executive branch into a virtual dictatorship.
7. A doubling of our national debt, after experiencing four consecutive years of budget surplus under the previous administration.
8. The development of the worst financial crisis in (at least) 75 years, directly resulting of decades of deregulation promoted by the same party.
9. The most precipitous decline in international respect in our history.
10. An unprecedented outsourcing of jobs.
11. An energy strategy that entails single-minded fealty to the oil industry, at the expense of the development of alternative, sustainable sources.
Now you want to vote for a president from that same party who is clearly erratic and overly temperamental... a "maverick" who makes jokes about starting World War III. A man who will do anything to get elected, including undermining every single one of his previously expressed principles.
The simple fact is that a vote for John McCain is a vote for a ticket and a party that will continue the policies that are destroying my country. In my mind, that's treason.
