The REAL truth about Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac failures !

I FOUND THIS ARTICLE QUITE INTERESTING !!

ELECTION 2008
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac execs now offering advice to Obama
Senator's links to mortgage giants also include campaign contributions

Fannie Mae headquarters in Washington, D.C.
NEW YORK – Campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made to Barack Obama may backfire if the Democratic presidential hopeful wages an aggressive campaign to cast blame on rival John McCain and the Republicans in Congress for the mortgage-related losses that forced the U.S. Treasury to take over the quasi-governmental mortgage giants.

A review of Federal Election Commission records back to 1989 reveals Obama in his three complete years in the Senate is the second largest recipient of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae campaign contributions, behind only Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., the powerful chairman of the Senate banking committee. Dodd was first elected to the Senate in 1980.

According to OpenSecrets.com, from 1989 to 2008, Dodd received $165,400 in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac campaign contributions, including contributions from PACs and individuals, followed by Obama, who received $126,349 in such contributions since being elected to the Senate in 2004.

In contrast, McCain warned of the coming mortgage crisis as he pressed in 2005 for regulatory reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

"For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – known as government-sponsored entities or GSEs – and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market," McCain said on the floor of the Senate in 2005, speaking in favor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005.

McCain pointed out Fannie Mae's regulator had stated the company's quarterly reports of profit growth over the past few years were "illusions deliberately and systematically created" by the company's senior management, which resulted in a $10.6billion accounting scandal.

The bill passed the House but was never brought up for a vote in the Senate, largely because of Democratic opposition to change in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac regulatory structure that remained in place until the Treasury takeover two weeks ago.

As evidenced by the failure to pass the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, the Democrats in Congress have repeatedly fought back Republican Party efforts to reform the two mortgage banking giants.

Instead, Democrats in Congress have sought to preserve the quasi-governmental status of the mortgage giants, seeing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as places to locate former top Democratic Party operatives, where they have earned millions in compensation, despite a continuing series of financial scandals. Enron-like accounting manipulation, for example, boosted earnings to a level at which massive executive bonuses could be paid.

In the aftermath of the U.S. government takeover, attention has focused on three Democrats with close ties to Obama who served as Fannie Mae executives: Franklin Raines, former Clinton administration budget director; James Johnson, former aide to Democratic Vice President Walter Mondale; and Jamie Gorelick, former Clinton administration deputy attorney general.

All three Obama-related executives earned millions in compensation from Fannie Mae.

Johnson earned $21 million in just his last year serving as Fannie Mae CEO from 1991 to 1998; Raines earned $90 million in his five years as Fannie Mae CEO, from 1999 to 2004; and Gorelick earned an estimated $26 million serving as vice chair of Fannie Mae from 1998 to 2003, according to author David Frum, a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

All three have been involved in mortgage-related financial scandals.

In 1998, according to the Washington Post, Gorelick, as Fannie Mae vice chairman, received a bonus of $779,625, despite a scandal in which employees falsified signatures on accounting transactions to manipulate books to meet 1998 earning targets. The moves, in turn, triggered multi-million-dollar bonuses for top executives.

Gorelick was embroiled in another controversy over an alleged conflict of interest when a 1995 memo she authored as deputy attorney general surfaced while she was a member of the 9/11 commission.

The memo, which became known as the "Gorelick Wall," appeared to establish barriers that barred federal anti-terrorist criminal investigators from accessing various federal records and databases that may have assisted them in their criminal investigations.

According to the Associated Press, Raines and several other Fannie Mae top executives were ordered in a civil lawsuit to pay nearly $31.4 million for manipulating Fannie Mae earnings over a period of six years to trigger their massive bonuses.

Raines was also forced in the settlement to give up Fannie Mae stock options valued at $15.6 million.

Last year, the Securities and Exchange Commission alleged Freddie Mac had engaged in accounting fraud from 2000 to 2002, imposing a $50 million fine on the company and on four executives fines for amounts ranging from $65,000 to $250,000.

Raines currently advises Obama on housing policy.

Johnson was appointed to head Obama's vice presidential selection committee, until a controversy concerning an alleged $7 millions in questionable real estate loans he received on favorable terms from failed sub-prime mortgage lender Countrywide Financial surfaced and forced him to step down.

WND previously reported a panel chaired by Elena Kagan, dean and professor of law at Harvard Law School, speculated at the June two-day meeting of the American Constitution Society that Gorelick was a possible attorney general cabinet appointment if Obama should be elected president.

The decision by the U.S. Treasury to take over Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae could end up costing the U.S. taxpayer as much as $100 billion, although the extent of losses at the two giant mortgage companies remains to be determined.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Freddie and Fannie own or guarantee about $5.2 trillion worth of mortgages.

The riskiest loans held by Freddie and Fannie are known as "Alt-A" and sub-prime mortgages, worth about $780 billion, or about 15 percent of the total portfolio.

The federal government takeover of Freddie and Fannie passes to U.S. taxpayers the contingent liability for failures in the entire $5.2 trillion loan portfolio held by the two mortgage giants.

Over the past four quarters, Freddie and Fannie have suffered losses of about $14 billion, as the mortgage market has been hit by a wave of defaults and foreclosures not seen in the U.S. since the 1930s.

These foolish dems do not care about America !
At first the did not include republicans in any of there discussions until they realized that they would have to draft some kind of bill and that the public was mad as hell about the crooks on wall street. After they realized that even though they did not need any republican envolment to pass a bill they knew that man of their cronies would send them packing so then they turned to the Republicans for help. They are just playing politics with "your" money to save their asses. AND...NANCY LIES LIKE A DOG.

Fed takes fresh steps to battle credit crisis

Fed takes fresh steps to battle credit crisis
Action intended to ‘expand significantly’ the availability of cash

Sept. 29, 2008
WASHINGTON - The Federal Reserve and foreign central banks moved Monday to pump billions of dollars to cash-strapped banks at home and abroad in a dramatic bid to break through a credit clog and spur lending.

The Fed said the action is intended to “expand significantly” the cash available to financial institutions, its latest effort to relieve the worst credit crisis since the Great Depression.

The goal is to boost the amount of quick cash available to banks and other financial institutions so that they’ll feel more confident and inclined to lend not only to each other but also to people and businesses.

Credit is the economy’s lifeblood. The global credit clog — which started a year ago and grew much more severe in the past few weeks — has made it increasingly difficult for people and businesses to borrow money. The crisis — if it persists — could plunge the economy into a recession, President Bush and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke have warned.

The Fed action came hours before the House defeated a $700 billion financial bailout plan, ignoring urgent pleas by Bush and Bernanke to move swiftly.

The plan was designed to break through a dangerous credit clog that has threatened to freeze up the entire financial system and throw the economy into a recession. At the heart of the plan, the government would buy bad mortgages and other dodgy debts held by banks and other financial institutions. By getting those rotten assets off their books, financial institutions should be in a better position to raise capital and boost lending, supporters contend.

The Fed’s action on Monday expands programs already in place. It is unclear whether it will break through the credit bottlenecks. Its previous actions — including steps along these lines — have provided relief, but haven’t halted the crisis.

Against this backdrop, central banks will continue to work closely and are prepared to take “appropriate steps as needed” to ease the crisis and get banks lending again, the Fed said.

On Wall Street, stocks dropped sharply even after the Fed’s announcement. The Dow Jones industrials plunged 777 points — their largest point drop ever — or almost 7 percent. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index declined 8.51 percent and the technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell 9.14 percent.

Under one new step, the Fed will boost the amount of 84-day cash loans available to U.S. banks. The Fed is increasing the amount to $75 billion, up from the current $25 billion starting on Oct. 6. Banks bid on a slice of the loans at an auction.

That move will triple the supply of 84-day loans to $225 billion, from $75 billion, the Fed said.

Meanwhile, the Fed will continue to make $75 billion worth of shorter, 28-day loans available to banks.

All told, the total amount of cash loans — 84-day and 28-day — available to banks will double to $300 billion from $150 billion, the Fed said.

Moreover, the Fed made an extra $330 billion available to other central banks. That boosted to $620 billion the total amount available to the central bank through currency “swap” arrangements, where dollars are traded for their currencies. That total is up from $290 billion previously being made available through such arrangements.

The Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan, the European Central Bank, the Swiss National Bank and the central banks of Denmark, Norway, Australia and Sweden are involved in those swap arrangements.

“We are experiencing a massive credit implosion,” said T.J. Marta, a fixed-income strategist at RBC Capital Markets.

The move comes as the U.S. financial meltdown’s tendrils have ensnared banks in Britain, the Benelux and Germany.

By pledging to provide “a very large” cash infusion, the Fed hopes the actions will “reassure financial market participants.”

Lets talk about the BAILOUT FOR AMERICA !!

U.S. government should bail out of bailouts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted: September 18, 2008

The last thing government officials should do is try to bail us out of the economic crisis they are responsible for creating in the first place.

The lack of oversight provided by Chris Dodd and Barney Frank of the Banking and Financial Services subcommittee is unprecedented and should require the immediate dismissal of both men. Their decisions, which have in large part brought about the current market crisis, make the decisions made during Hurricane Katrina look like sheer genius.

Campaign contributions have a miraculous way of clouding any career politician's ability to make intelligent choices that would directly benefit the American public. They know those choices will greatly disappoint their 'masters' who run Wall Street and thus slow the flow of campaign money for re-election.

Dodd and Frank had the direct responsibility, in congressional oversight, to protect the American public against abuses of the system. They did not!

I would love to see the campaign contribution records of Dodd and Frank from the banks and financial services companies now at the trough looking for taxpayer money to save them from the very folly that lined their pocket with billions.

Or maybe we should take a closer look at Clinton appointees like Jamie Gorelick and Franklin Raines who were paid a combined salary of $125 million from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. How about the contributions from Bears Stearns, JP Morgan, AIG, and Merrill Lynch to both political parties who allowed the shenanigans to continue unabated while many watched the problems grow worse by the day?

The fact is this whole crisis was avoidable. As far back as 1987 there were calls in Congress for oversight in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Yet the Clinton administration had no interest. Instead the "more is better," "chicken in every pot" mentality in America forced officials like Barney Frank to allow lenders' greed and Wall Street's hunger for huge fees to create a culture of corruption never before seen in American history.

Democrats, at the time, ignored the fact that many loans were being made to completely unqualified borrowers to buy homes they clearly could not afford. Overnight, home ownership in America became a birthright under the Democrats. Discussions with the Congressional Black Caucus and housing executives from Fannie and Freddie were just one example of how the Democratic Party encouraged irresponsible borrowing behavior.

So what do we do now? We must suffer the pain and do the hard yet necessary things to return to reality or we had better get prepared for a whole lot more pain. These problems did not happen overnight and the solutions will not come overnight. But the longer we fool ourselves with feel-good government bailouts, the longer the problem will remain.

Why are we turning to the very perpetrators for the answers to the problems they caused in the first place? Are we crazy? Go back to the same folks who broke it for a fix?

Free markets works when they are operated under accountability. The only effective help the government can offer would be to immediate halt wasteful spending and begin to reduce the national debt. Fiscal responsibility at the government level would do more to instill confidence than any bailout a bureaucrat can offer. Bureaucrat bailouts are designed to bring new contributions into their campaigns. That is a huge part of the problem. Bailouts do not work unless they are accompanied with accountability.

It would be easy enough to kid ourselves and allow the government to throw huge amounts of taxpayer dollars at the problems and pass it all on to future generations. But that would be like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. The patient will still bleed to death, just at a slower pace.

Accountability, not blame, is required NOW. Sacrifice, not politics, is the necessary cure. I know it isn't a popular message but it is reality. Americans are willing to do what it takes to strengthen the country if they know they will not be burned once again by politicians who are more interested in power and position than they are about what is best for America.

It is time for the speaker of the House to drop her blame game and do what is best for America. It is nauseating to listen to the speaker lay blame at the feet of the current administration when she knows all too well that her democratically controlled Congress blocked all attempts to regulate the industry. Why can't both sides stop the attacks and start with the bipartisan cooperation they allegedly desire?

Our best years are ahead if we learn from the mistakes that have been made and not look to government for the answers to our problems. Government is not the solution to the problem; government is the problem. We must work together. We must allow free markets to punish those who did wrong, weed out the weak borrowers and reward those who borrowed honestly. If we don't, we are headed for even more difficult times.

We can avoid those difficult times if we believe in less government, more personal responsibility and accountability from leaders in both the private and public sectors.

The Democrat Caused Financial Crisis. How we got here.

BELOW IS AN ARTICLE I CAME ACROSS ABOUT THE CURRENT FINANCIAL CRISIS. I found it rather interesting and thought I would share this.

Okay, as to the bailout here, folks, a lot of people over the e-mail are very confused about this, even some of my closest circle, because they think, "Well, the bailout's a bad idea, but what if we don't? Is everything going to crash around it? This is more nuance than, you know, just cut-and-dried, up-or-down, liberal-versus-conservatism." I think, folks, a lot of people say, "You know, we're beyond the point of assigning blame here. That's not the problem. What we have to do is understand what to do in the future." Well, you can't understand what to do in the future unless you properly assign blame, and there is so much blame here. All of this could have been avoided, were it not for liberal social engineering brought about by the Clinton administration.
It actually started with Jimmy Carter, but it intensified during the Clinton years, and the whole purpose of it, of course, was to play the race card, to get into class envy, and to go out and buy votes.

There's a piece at Bloomberg.com today by Kevin Hassett. Kevin Hassett is director of economic policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute. He's also a Bloomberg News columnist, and he is an advisor to McCain. Let's be up-front in this presidential campaign. "How the Democrats Created the Financial Crisis." He says it's not complicated. It really isn't complicated. "Enough cards on this table have been turned over that the story is now clear. The economic history books will describe this episode in simple and understandable terms: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac exploded, and many bystanders were injured in the blast, some fatally. Fannie and Freddie did this by becoming a key enabler of the mortgage crisis. They fueled Wall Street's efforts to securitize subprime loans by becoming the primary customer of all AAA-rated subprime-mortgage pools.

" Now, there's no... AAA subprime (laughing), uh -- Well, it's a little bit of an oxymoron.
"In 2005 Alan Greenspan told Congress how urgent it was for it to act in the clearest possible terms: If Fannie and Freddie 'continue to grow, continue to have the low capital that they have, continue to engage in the dynamic hedging of their portfolios, which they need to do for interest rate risk aversion, they potentially create ever-growing potential systemic risk down the road,' he said. 'We are placing the total financial system of the future at a substantial risk.' Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. What happened next was extraordinary. For the first time in history, a serious Fannie and Freddie reform bill was passed by the Senate Banking Committee. The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required the companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets.

"If that bill had become law, then the world today would be different. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, a blizzard of terrible mortgage paper fluttered out of the Fannie and Freddie clouds, burying many of our oldest and most venerable institutions. Without their checkbooks keeping the market liquid and buying up excess supply, the market would likely have not existed. But the bill didn't become law, for a simple reason: Democrats opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn't even get the Senate to vote on the matter...." And it goes on to mention here "many of the senators who protected Fannie and Freddie, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd, have received mind-boggling levels of financial support from them over the years.

" It's interesting, too, you've seen the list of donations that have gone to all the Democrats of Fannie Mae.
At the top of the list of course is Chris Dodd; number two is Obama. However, if you reorder that list and look at the people who have received the most in the least amount of time, Obama is at the top of the list by far and away. He's been in the Senate two and a half years, and he's the leader. Dodd got his money over the course of many years. So you have to ask, "Why in the hell was Obama given so much money by Freddie Mac so fast, so quickly?" The tentacles, my friends, the tentacles here -- and I say this with all candor -- reach deep into the Democrat Party.
Let's talk change for a moment. The most important and far-reaching change needed has been brought home definitively by all this turmoil in the financial markets, precipitated by the subprime mortgage crisis.

There is a singular culprit here, and that is it -- and there's a great idea at stake here, too, and the idea is that the free market measures itself and handles itself better than the government running. The great idea that we're about to throw away with this bailout is that the government can run things better. The government can take care of you, the government can insure you, the government can protect you, the government can provide for you. This is an idea which has been shown to fail around the world. We are about to incorporate it here if this bailout goes through as designed. This should not be a mystery anymore to anybody because the Drive-By Media refuses to do its job. Last week the roots of this crisis were explained, and its authors were identified. Long-serving congressmen and senators, overwhelmingly Democrats, working in concert with the liberal allies in the bureaucracies and the management of these so-called companies -- really government agencies, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. They're government agencies, they always have been -- and liberal special interests and advocacy groups hijacked federal housing policies and turned them into patronage programs.
The quasi-governmental entities were at the root of this problem because what they did forced the hand of genuine private mortgage companies to conform to the same irresponsible lending policies as Fannie and Freddie had adopted if they were to survive. And it also fostered creation of sleazy mortgage companies whose business model was making lousy loans in the expectation of being able to dump 'em later through new financial instruments that had been created just to do that, and I have just gotten started.

This bailout crisis, my friends, it is crucial I think here to understand the truth. The policy perversions that led to this mess began with the active connivance of the Clinton administration and were perpetuated by leading Democrats in the House and Senate. There were some responsible Republicans supported by the Bush administration time and again attempted to avert the disaster they saw coming. They wanted new regulatory agencies and so forth, but their reform efforts were defeated in the House and the Senate. Barney Frank in fact said, "There's nothing wrong." (doing Frank impression) "There's nothing wrong," is what he said. Now, this emergency bailout friends can go either way. It can fix the underlying problem or merely represent another opportunity for another leftist hijacking, and Obama and Pelosi are out there saying, they want oversight over this. You know what that means?

Whenever this kind of money is going to be spent by the government on something, Democrats are going to get their hands in it, and they're going to reward people like ACORN. They're going to try to. They're going to try to build on their social programming and networking here with this kind of money outstanding that is supposedly aimed at shoring up the US economy.
Now, McCain and Palin can claim to recognize the problem, and they can commit themselves to fixing it. But they can't deliver the needed change on their own. They need support in the House and Senate to do that. Right now, there is no prospect of them getting that help, not with Pelosi and that odious and compromised Barney Frank, Henry Waxman, Chuck Schumer, Christopher Dodd in the House and Senate leadership. The names I just gave you have their fingerprints all over this. Plus names that you were told of last week and identified last week: Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Janet Reno, Jamie Gorelick.

It is a stain, it is a stench, and it is directly traceable to liberal Democrat policies and desires. We know who caused the problem! We know that we can only expect the change we need by replacing them with congressmen and senators pledged to a different course with a fundamentally different concept of how the federal government can best serve the interests of the American people. That's the change we need.
The change we need is bye-bye Barney Frank. The change we need is get rid of Chris Dodd, get rid of Nancy Pelosi, get rid of all of these Democrats, Chuck Schumer. Get rid of all of these people. That's the change we need, pure and simple. Isn't it interesting that the mortgage debacle and the resulting impact on our financial markets is said to have begun with deregulation? Ha! And isn't it interesting that no one in the administration challenges this, and of course nobody in the Drive-By Media challenges it, and McCain doesn't even challenge it. The reason is that we are witnessing the biggest nationalization of our economy since the Great Society and the New Deal, and we are all on the sidelines as it happens, and this is what I'm talking about this very important idea -- an idea that defines the greatness of this country -- on the line. And that idea is that government is not the provider, the guarantor, the protector, and the redeemer for every living soul and institution in the country, particularly in this case when the problems can be traced back to people in government. Now the very people who created the problem have set themselves up to be in charge of the whole program, now blaming capitalism, blaming the private sector for this. The fact is this: When Jimmy Carter was elected his first year, 1977, he and the Democrat Congress put in place the Community Development Act, and the purpose of this account was to pressure private financial institutions to make risky loans to poor people.

That was the purpose. These loans would not have been made based on any commonsense business model, but the Carter administration decided to hell with business models and use the law to pressure the issuance of these loans for the typical reasons liberals do these things: to buy votes, to create dependents, and to create love and respect and devotion to the Democrat Party. Groups like ACORN -- which exist, by the way, in ACORN's case -- exist for the express purpose of committing voting fraud. That's one of the groups that Obama, you know, worked with as a street organizer in Chicago. Groups like ACORN and others were also behind this. They allied themselves with the Democrats and the administration and Congress. Now, ACORN is a "grassroots" group that is backing Obama for president, they're close to him, they were close to him when he was a man of the street agitating things in Chicago. But none of this was good enough for the Clinton administration in 1995.

A renewed and more vigorous emphasis was made on making these loans. Janet Reno and Roberta Achtenberg (who was a former radical member of the California board of supervisors and an assistant secretary of HUD, Housing and Urban Development), put enormous pressure on financial institutions to make more and more risky loans, and they began accusing banks of redlining when they didn't meet the level of risky loans that they had imposed on them. They then prevented these financial institutions from expanding and merging unless they met a certain level of community redevelopment loan making -- and they threatened these institutions with government action. Reno herself said, "There will be investigations if you do not follow these regulations. If you don't make loans to these people who essentially can't pay 'em back, we're going to investigate you, and we're going to tie you up.

" We got the quotes, from a Cybercast News Service story. Subprime mortgages and things like them, are mortgages given to people who can't afford traditional mortgages. They can't afford down payments. They can't afford to make the going rate of interest payments. So new types of loans were invented to get these people into homes but which were extremely risky. There were no down payments, low introductory rates, in some cases no closing costs. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, in order to show ever-increasing assets on their balance sheets, would buy up these subprime loans, but the greater the asset, the executives at these government-run companies would show more assets, but they're worthless. One of the problems now is you've got a market, but nobody knows what the market is. There isn't a market right now. It's tumbled. Some people are saying that there's an outside chance that the market is so low that the taxpayer (i.e., the Treasury) could really win big with this bailout, given how little they're going to have to spend to buy up all these assets.

But the way it worked inside Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was this. They loaded up on these worthless assets; they would put them, predate them into prior years so they show fantastic asset growth. It was on the asset growth that their bonuses were determined, such as Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson and all the other people, Daniel Mudd who worked at these places who walked out of there with anything between 75 and 90 and a hundred million dollars. Now, this is the short story behind much of the debacle that we're dealing with today. I mean, there are other issues out there, but this is the systemic underpinning of the crisis. All roads three-day Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, contrary to what they're trying to make you believe -- and this is what really infuriates me and makes me passionate to get through to everybody I can.

The issue is not a runaway, unregulated free market. The issue is not the failure to regulate. The issue is not stupid and crooked executives throughout the banking industry doing stupid and crooked things, although there was some of that. There's some of that in every area of life. But that's not the cause. What you need to understand, my good friends, is that this situation has occurred and is occurring as a direct result of government policies: liberal government policies that were used to force the issuance of trillions of dollars in risky loans that people could not pay back. And when they couldn't pay them back, people couldn't get the asset value that they had sold and packaged the mortgages for, and everything crashed, everything crumbled. And about this bailout, I want to call your attention to something.

How many times in the last six months have we read stories about the Fed adding to liquidity here or helping this institution there? We've already had a bunch of bailouts. We've already had a government stimulus package to help the US economy, and now Obama's talking about wanting another one. These things have a history of not working. They may show short-term relief, but over the long haul, world history is replete with example after example after example that centralized economic planning does not work. The Democrats on Capitol Hill, and primarily I'm talking here about Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, were in the middle of this from day one. They supported the Carter and Clinton administrations when they pressured the private sector to make these risky loans.

They protected Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac when they bought up these risky loans -- and in 2003, when the Bush administration attempted to impose some accountability on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac when they tried to force them to accept outside auditors, require better capitalization. You know what the leverage rate was? They only had to have a dollar of cash on hand for every 30 bucks they had borrowed. That kind of leverage is just obscene. So they wanted to change that; they wanted more capitalization. But guess who blocked it? Good old Barney Frank and Chris Dodd stood right smack-dab in the way. When, in 2005, Republicans in Congress tried to do the same thing, they were obstructed as well. In fact, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank said there was nothing wrong with these government-run companies and the Republicans were trying to scare people.

We have, now, ladies and gentlemen, a clear definition of affordable housing, according to Barney Frank. Affordable housing is giving people houses that you and I pay for. That's affordable housing -- and I'm not talking about, you know, tenements and housing projects. I've heard Barney Frank talk about this enough times. Every time he would talk about this he said, "We can't get rid of the affordable housing, affordable housing." "Affordable housing" to Barney Frank and the liberals is making sure that every liberal Democrat in this country who can't afford a house gets one. And then affordable housing, after they have been given the house -- under the pretext of buying it, of course -- but when they can't pay it back, guess what Barney Frank and Chris Dodd want: Let 'em stay in the house. In this new bailout legislation, Barney says, "You can't kick them out of the house, and we want limits on CEO pay." Any precondition on this bailout must include Barney Frank and Chris Dodd resigning.

Now, wait, folks. This gets even better. Welcome back to the Rush Limbaugh program, meeting and surpassing all audience expectations on a daily basis. So now we have Hank Paulson, the Treasury Secretary, ex-Goldman Sachs and a Democrat appointed by President Bush, an old buddy of Chuck-U Schumer, by the way -- and who isn't in this mess a friend of Chuck Schumer's? Schumer was involved in all of this as well. And now we got Hank Paulson in charge of, not elected, the most far-reaching government takeover of a huge chunk of our economy ever.

One little aside here, folks, one little aside, and I promise not to lose my place. This amount of money that we're talking about, 700 billion -- and let's just admit it's going to be a trillion before it's all done with, okay? Even that will pale compared to the cost of Algore's global warming plans if Democrats get their hands on that. Global warming tactics, their plan to fix global warming will cost more than even this. I'll have more on that in due course.

This is the most far-reaching government takeover of a huge chunk of our economy ever, and it still isn't enough. It's still not enough for Barney Frank. Paulson wants a slush fund. He basically wants $700 billion to buy up bad loans as he and only he sees fit. Now you have Obama and Pelosi saying they want oversight. Ha. That means ACORN is going to get 500 mill here, some other little Democrat group, teachers union is going to get some money here, Maxine Waters is going to get about a thousand dollars for each of her constituents to pass around out in California. I mean none of this is official, but this is the way these things work. Now, keep in mind these are bad loans in the sense that they were risky. But the loans have not actually defaulted yet, so unlike the savings and loan failure, this would be far more reaching.

The government's going to buy up loans before they default. That's called affordable housing, the way the Democrats define it. Barney Frank, among other things, says that this is unacceptable unless even more money is spent helping more people facing foreclosure. Barney Frank's definition of affordable housing is that if they're about to be foreclosed on for not being able to pay, they get to stay in the house.

So one of the main individuals responsible for the current financial problem, wants the American taxpayer to subsidize not only the buyout of bad loans that have yet to fail, but he wants to spend even more money to shore up these individuals who, in many cases, shouldn't have bought a house in the first place. The left sees this as their opportunity to change the nature and identity of this economy. And the Republicans are going right along with them, including the president, including McCain. There's no way around this. I mean neither of them, and no one in the party seems capable of exposing what's going on here, and opposing it. It's not enough to say that you're against the latest bailout. You need to explain why. You need to stop with the populist left-wing rhetoric about needing more regulations, you gotta stop beating up on Wall Street, you gotta stop pandering, you gotta realize, Senator McCain, you are running against Obama. You're not running against George W. Bush and Wall Street. You are running against Senator Obama.

Sarah Palin understands it. She pulled your irons out of the fire and you're about to throw 'em back in. This idea that Andrew Cuomo should be Securities and Exchange Commission chairman, that's what McCain said last night on 60Minutes. I kid you not, McCain would appoint Andrew Cuomo. From The Village Voice, ladies and gentlemen, in August 5th of this year, a whole story: "Andrew Cuomo and Fannie and Freddie -- How the youngest Housing and Urban Development secretary in history gave birth to the mortgage crisis." Andrew Cuomo is up to his neck in this. This is a 16-page printed story on a computer printer from The Village Voice. Cuomo jacked up low income, low mandates on Fannie and Freddie, and he is at the head of the line, too, with other Democrats on this whole crisis, and McCain talks about putting him in the -- (sigh).

THANK GOD FOR PRESIDENT BUSH

I know that many people do not like President Bush. But, you know what...that is okay. This is a free country, right ?
I admire President Bush more than I have many other that came before him.
No one that dislikes him really cannot tell you WHY they do not like him. They just want to be a part of the ones that don't in fear of what someone might say to them.
That's okay.
I myself do not care what people think of how I feel. They do not pay my bills and they do not put a roof over my head and they do not feed me.
I have love and compassion for people in my heart. That is a trait passed on from my parents and from God. I am proud of that.
I will always loves and admire President Bush. I see all the good in this man.
All others want to see is a political dislike for him. It does not bother me at all.
I know that he is not responsible for all the things that have happened these last eight years. I can only imagine that if 9-11 had not happened what wonderful things he could have done for this great country. 9-11 caused a lot of hardship and sacrifice for many.
I am not going to go on and on here, I just want to honor the man I have great respect and admoration for.
THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH. THANK YOU FOR BEING MY PRESIDENT. !!

Lies, Loopholes and the Constitution~ JUST SAY NO TO OBAMA

I saw this response SOMEONE WROTE to an article and I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE ONES OPINION. I agree 100%

Lies, Loopholes and the Constitution:
Political

In response to a concerned fellow American over the liberal “Presenters” of the Presidential debates and the “obvious” hatred/fear emanating from our fellow Americans who have turned Left somewhere along the road…No my friend...we won't have gridlock if Obama is elected....but rather a dynasty of destruction in which every Liberal spending Bill submitted by Congress will be approved by Osama and Obama (not to mention the endorsements of the primarily Socialist leaders in Germany, France, GB, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea (no fewer than six politicians running for office in South America have officially renamed themselves to Barack Obama..) oh yeah....and all of the wannabe future Muslim Caliphate members from Gibraltar to India that herald the coming new friendship with the "Enlightened One"! Has it ever occurred to people like Charles Gibson to ask Obama why all of his closest friends are either convicted criminals (Chicagoan Tony Resco), self admitted Homeland Anti-American Terrorists like William Ayers & wife, or his own lobbyist top election staff chairpersons such as the former KEY FIGURES of none other than the recently exposed government sponsored companies (Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac and let us not forget....the largest of the three...AIG...so help me GOD)! While shaming President Bush and John McCain for not providing "proper and lasting oversight of this country's fraudulent mortgage brokerage and lending firms" And he has the "Audacity of Hope" that the true content of his private and uplifting "spiritual guidance sessions" with the racist Hate Monger "reverend" Wright will continue to go "unnoticed" by his worshippers like Okra Wimpey, and the producers, and faithful staff at NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC and the public sponsored C-Span as well as the nationwide "Politbureau/educational" stations that are nothing more than Socialist training videos produced and broadcast by those in direct alignment and consultation with the Annenberg Foundation! Oh and let us not forget his favorite "mentor and travelling companion" to accompany him to certain "God-fearing" Mideastern nations like Libya to meet with that kind fellow Mohammar Khadafy??

Has it ever occurred to any of the "fair and balanced" minded Americans that his highly valued (and widely acclaimed) duties as a "Community Organizer" were nothing more than frequent and undisclosed (to the general voting populace) visits to the Churches of the concerned faithful in South Chicago in order to convince the "ministers" of the community to "organize" as a large and vocal voting block for the only folks that could "Feel their Pain" (a political move directly from the playbook of the widely acclaimed Socialist and Communist faithful Saul Alinsky)?? And as he, his Network friends and campaign faithful touted his important "Executive" experience as a selfless effort to gain favor ($$$) and status as someone in the community who came from a Holy place to organize, stress Unity of, and help to bring focus to at least those most helpless members of the local "Black" community and to "Liberate" them from the centuries of tortuous conditions the "White Man" had forced upon them through the enlightening "Truths" of "Theology" perhaps???!

My friend, that is just the "tip of the iceberg" when it comes to "getting to know" this kind, upstanding and patriotic man known as "Obama", no, actually the tip of one of many "icebergs" floating around this Globe, with mock concern that they will be "melting soon" anyway due to the "global warming" bunch of non-caring Conservatives who pollute the planet more with every new energy plant (including private business) that they start up. The "out of touch" compassionless Americans who are so self gratifying that we turn up our thermostats in the Winter and lower them in Summer for nothing more than to satisfy our all-consuming lust for comfort! Folks like us who are so unsophisticated intellectually that we can't see the solution to the serious energy crisis like inflating all of our tires for the sake of the Globe! Undisciplined and backward thinking masses as we look at the world around us with envy and are driven to the verge of madness as we pick up our guns and hold onto the false security offered by our own family Bibles! If only we could figure out a way, we could cast away those guns & reading materials and learn to live happily and "peacefully co-exist" side by side with knowledgeable people like those good kind folks in the more "sophisticated" bastions of highly evolved civilization like Metro New York....or hopefully...maybe those wise souls in South Chicago!! We could get good paying jobs or government college loans if we could be lucky enough to be selected to build some of those new windmills of the shores of Long Island, or in the seas near Boston (did you say that would conflict with Senator Teddy's aesthetically pleasing view of the Harbor Horizon?? Well maybe not Boston then).

WHY SHOULD WE BE SO CONCERNED ABOUT A COOL EDUCATED DUDE THAT COULD AT ONE TIME SNORT AN EIGHTBALL ON THE WAY TO THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION OFFICE FOR SUPPORT OF HIGHER EDUCATION?? Certain political machines remind us of that old quote "If power is the primary source of corruption then total power leads to total corruption" ever read clauses 1 and 2 of Article VI of our very own US Constitution?? It is as follows:

Article. VI.

Clause 1: All Debts contracted and Engagements entered into, before the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation.

Clause 2: This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

Yep, for the "un-initiated" and "un-anointed" among us, those two short clauses mean that within the framework of our US Constitution, the Founders provided an instrument for providing other nations with the security of knowing that, if we ever agree to a treaty with that nation (or even a united group of nations), then we are bound to honor the laws and agreements of that instrument....EVEN PUTTING THOSE AGREEMENTS ABOVE THOSE RIGHTS OR RESTRICTIONS guaranteed us in our very own US Constitution!! Well...I'm no Plato...but I vaguely recall recent mention by many representatives of other nations, as well as some of our own illustrative members of Con-Digress, that one of the main tenants of the group of Global Elitists known as the UN, is the firm conviction that in the "modern" world, and in consideration of the many various "war-like" factions among the populace of sovereign nations, the best method (by consensus) of maintaining the "economic viability and social stability" of those populations is to ban the possession, ownership or private sales of weapons considered as "small arms" whose definition conveniently would be determined by those honorable and "enlightened few".

Now, ask me, if after what passes for a candidate of "presidential aspiration" can have even the most relative and telling indicators of his political life completely overlooked and determined by his followers (sponsors) to be a mean spirited attempt by conservative right-wing hit men, and highly praised as the only qualified "Agent of Change" we can trust....well.

If Obama were to become our next President, Congress would be totally controlled by liberals with the "most liberal member of the US Senate" at the helm of this "Pirate Ship" to sign off on and give the final seal of approval to ANY International Treaties designed as a "vehicle of change" in accordance with Article VI of that GOD inspired sacred document that may even now be under the cloud of darkness and deceit by the "New Messiah". And just how in the Hell can we mistrust an honest soul who has been officially and enthusiastically endorsed by Okra Wimpey herself!! Watch out Queen Latifah....Michelle is waiting in the wings!!

As I write this even now, in final (thank Goodness), there is a breaking news story from the Information Minister of the new IRAQI government saying that, when Obama met with the Iraqi ambassador recently, he was "adamantly persuading" the Iraqi Ambassador NOT to sign a withdrawal Treaty issued by the Bush Administration but that it would be best for both of our Nations and the World at large, if the Iraqi President Malachi would postpone his decisions on American Force withdrawals until the new leader of the next new Administration is officially elected and seated!! If confirmed....wouldn't this fall under the Treason Statutes?? Can a private citizen or individual member of the Senate use his position to try to influence the troop deployment decisions with the leader of the nation in which those troops are actively deployed, and at such a time when we are technically "at war" with remaining factions still in that nation (though admittedly at the request and with the hospitality of the foreign leader)?? Why does this news not surprise me, and why does it not surprise me that the only network to mention this Iraqi Minister's allegations has been the Fox News Channel (in a live televised interview with the minister making the accusations).

As I close...I have to say that I am certainly not qualified nor would I care to pass "Judgement" on Senators Obama, McCain, Biden, nor Governor Palin....I am sure that senator Obama is a man of conscious and deep and often reflections. I also know he is a family man who is aquainted with the hopes, fears and ambition we all share as people of the same "global family" He is also not different than my self on many of his stated "core beliefs anf feelings" and my life has been a lot more parallel to his own than to Senator McCains ( I was an anti-conservative, pot and hash smoking, long haired anti-war idealist protestor in my late teens/early twenties who served 5 years for drug possession in the late sixties/ early seventies, and can't claim the Honor of giving military service to my own country during the last phases of Vietnam War. My concerns are purely "tainted" by my now Conservative "Worldview" or my obvious desire to point out only those positions & facts about the political candidate I find "most disengenuous", and I am 100% certain that I have been guilty of all of the 7 deadly sins (greed, jealousy, avarice, sloth...etc..etc.) at various times in my own sometimes confused life....but I feel like after all of the unfounded, slanderous, viscious and pretentious accusations and media attempts to assasinate the Honor and Character of Senator McCain and his Vice-presidential nominee's character and unfair exploration and "exploitation" of their sacred trust in the right of most personal privacy and dignity, a few facts to help "balance the scales" were in order. The facts in this blog are merely facts based on either historical records or documented evidence, but in excercising my right to free speech & freedom of expression....the rest is obviously personal opinion. We can debate the facts...and share opinions...but I hope we never try to hide the "Truth".

“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”

Plato quote

“In politics we presume that everyone who knows how to get votes knows how to administer a city or a state. When we are ill... we do not ask for the handsomest physician, or the most eloquent one.”

Plato quote

I HATE POLITICS ! GIVE TO THE RED CROSS NOW !

I HAVE REALLY GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I JUST REALLY HATE POLITICS.

IT USED TO BE THAT YOU HAD TWO PARTIES WITH TWO DIFFERENT PLATFORMS.

One party believed in lower taxes for the people and less government.

The other party believed in higher taxes and more government.

You voted for the party that offered you what you thought was best for you or the country in general.

NOW DAYS, IT'S ALL A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT.

Each party when running for office bashes and trashes the other and the followers of the party are even worse. They post crap all over the Internet and post pictures of whoever they do not like with blood running down there faces and so on and so forth.
It makes me sick some of the lies they post.

It not about who would be the best to represent the country or the state or the individual areas of a state. It has become an election of who is the cutest or who can speak better or who dresses the best or how old someone is or who is the coolest or who can "act" as though they are looking out for you the best and they really care, or who can pull the wooll over your eyes the best and make you beleive in them and it goes on and on and on. OR...WHOEVER TELLS THE MOST LIES ON THE OTHER ONE AND MAKES YOU BELIEVE IT !

People cheat in elections and try to get more votes through fraud by registering in different precincts and such, and I am sure in some places you have people that are in charge of counting the votes and cheat people out of their votes by not even counting them. There is probably so much BS that goes on that I can not even imagine it.

What a greedy immoral world we have become. It is shameful. Very shameful. I pray to God that people will come to their senses. WAKE UP WORLD. Why is it this way. WHY?

The money that is raised for these campaigns is disgusting. People will shell billions for elections nominees for underlying reasons, (usually for self gains down the road if their candidate wins)yet people in this world are dying of diseases at young ages and are never given a chance to live to a normal age as they succumb to death because people will not shell out anything for research and development of things that could help people get well.

The RED CROSS helps people all over when disasters happen, yet no one is giving to them to help people. They are running out of money. This makes me sick.

This is NOT the way elections were intended to be. You vote and the one with the most votes wins and the person that won does all the things they said they would do or at least they try to. If the person does not do a good job then the next election they are voted out.

I repeat, I hate Politics. It is sickening. So what do you think about POLITICS ??

Barack Obama the idiot !

Barack Obama's Top Ten Campaign Gaffes

Barack Obama's surrogates have been trying to convince the American people that his judgment is so impeccable that his lack of experience is irrelevant. However, it's hard to make that case when the candidate in question is the single biggest gaffe machine to hit American politics since Howard Dean. You think Joe Biden cranks out a lot of dumb quips? Well, Biden is a rank amateur compared to Obama. As you read these brainless comments, keep in mind that the biggest challenge I had in creating this list was limiting it to only 10 snafus.

In fact, there were so many of them that some of Obama's most famous slip-ups, like "I don't want them punished with a baby" and "Why can't I just eat my waffle?" didn't even make the list.

Well, let's get to it, shall we?

First up, here's the quotation that became the genesis of the "Obama is an elitist snob" meme.

10) "Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula? I mean, they're charging a lot of money for this stuff."

When the internet is afire with false rumors that you're a Muslim, do you really want to bizarrely reference your "Muslim faith?"

9) "Let's not play games. I was suggesting - you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith."

I wonder if abortion is above Sarah Palin's pay grade? I think not.

8) “Rick Warren: ...Now, let's deal with abortion; 40 million abortions since Roe v. Wade. As a pastor, I have to deal with this all of the time, all of the pain and all of the conflicts. I know this is a very complex issue. Forty million abortions, at what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?"

Barack Obama: "Well, you know, I think that whether you're looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade."

This part of Obama's speech sounds like it was written for him by one of King Canute's courtiers.

7) "...I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment -- this was the time -- when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals."

Whether this "joke" was about Sarah Palin or not, it was a rather foolish line given that even his own supporters in the audience took it as a sexist jab at her expense.

6) "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called 'change,' it's still going to stink. After eight years, we've had enough of the same old thing. It's time to bring about real change to Washington and that's the choice you've got in this election."

As he tried to explain why he tossed his grandmother under the bus in a previous speech, Obama actually managed to make it worse by showing that he thinks of white people as a generic group, not as individuals.

5) "The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person..."

Dan Quayle, who was unfairly pilloried as a moron, never said anything half as dumb as this.

4) "Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go."

In his counterproductive race speech, which was mistakenly praised as genius by his supporters in the media, Obama managed to cement his association to the racist, anti-American rantings of Jeremiah Wright while simultaneously coming across as remarkably callous towards his own grandmother.

3) "I can no more disown (Jeremiah Wright) than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother - a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."

It's no secret to people who pay attention that Barack Obama is not a patriotic man and he managed to unwittingly hammer that point home when he rather foolishly made a big deal about refusing to wear a flag pin anymore.

2) "You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a (flag) pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq war, that became a substitute for, I think, true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest..."

If you're from a small town and you're wondering what Barack Obama thinks of you, this quote tells you everything you need to know and then some.

1) "You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Lock your doors, get yours guns, the Obama hounds are on the loose

Obama Releases His "In-Your-Face" Hounds

Warning: If your neighbor's got an "Obama '08" bumper sticker or lawn sign, you might want to double-check your door locks at night. The One has commanded his Purveyors of Change to go forth and proselytize to the unbelievers. And they're not going to be knocking gently like Avon Ladies.

Barack Obama, you see, is done fixing souls. It's time to crack heads. Prodded by panicked Democrats to take off his white gloves, he issued a Call to Strong Arm to his legions of angry followers on Wednesday. Hope is out. Hellfire is in. Now, the same analysts who tut-tutted Sarah Palin's mild use of sarcasm at the GOP convention are heralding -- in the words of the Obama water-carriers at the Associated Press -- Obama's "feistier, more sarcastic tone" and his push for Democrat activists "to sharpen their elbows, too."

When Republicans get aggressive, it's "dirty." When Obama gets aggressive, it's "feisty." Exorteth the One: "I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face."

Team Obama is so committed to this "face-to-face" shock troop campaign that it is now busing activists from state to state ("Drive for Change!") to target undecided voters -- and offering subsidies to volunteers. In advance of Obama's rally in Nevada, California field director Mary Jane Stevenson organized a pilgrimage to boost the crowd numbers with housing incentives:

"Face-to-face contact with undecided voters is the single most effective way to grow this movement. No experience is required, and we'll help you make the trip as easily as possible with either housing in Nevada or discounted group rates at an area hotel."

Yep, a bunch of angry Obama cultists and left-wing ACORN drifters are coming to your neighborhoods to accuse you of racism, call you unpatriotic for not bowing down and forking over more taxes to keep the Mother Ship afloat, and check your tire pressure and thermostats while they're at it. Feel the power of positive change.

The in-your-face directive comes as Team Obama Chicago-fies its tactics by:

-- Stepping up sleazy ads. Tthe latest one twisted the words of radio talk giant Rush Limbaugh in a laughable attempt to paint John McCain as an immigration hardliner and stir fear among Hispanic voters;

-- Doubling down on the race card. Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius shamelessly baited supporters with this line: "Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American? (Republicans) are not going to go lightly into the darkness;"

-- And suppressing dissent. Rebuffed by the Justice Department in their efforts to prosecute conservatives for running ads critical of Obama's ties to Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, the campaign is using an army of supporters to mob radio and television stations daring to air investigations of the relationship. The foot soldiers receive their marching orders through "Obama Action Wires" and bombard critics with disruptive phone calls.

Meanwhile, the Left's Sarah Palin hatred has been encouraged by the in-your-face comments of Michelle Obama, who derided the Alaska governor's intellect ("What you learn about Barack from his choice is that he's not afraid of smart people") and looks (don't cast a vote because "she's cute") on the campaign trail. And Team Obama's goons on the Internet -- led by Gawker Media and the Huffington Post -- are reveling in the hacking of Palin's private e-mail account, the publication of private, family photos of her children stolen from her account, and the abuse of daughter Bristol's cell phone number stolen from the account. For countless friends of Obama, "in your face" is code for "anything goes."

In words and actions that would have made his mentor Saul Alinsky proud, Barack Obama is rubbing raw the sores of discontent -- and summoning his unhinged flock to do the same. All hail the community-agitator-in-chief. And remember: Lock your doors.

Obama Promises Billions for Anti-Poverty Program for other countries

WHAT THE HELL...WE HAVE PEOPLE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY THAT NEED HELP FIRST. DAMN YOU OBAMA. YOU SOCIALIST. I DON'T WANT MY MONEY GOING TO THOSE ROUGE COUNTRIES. THE WANT USE THE MONEY TO HELP THEIR PEOPLE, ALL THEY DO IS PUT IT IN THEIR OWN DAMN POCKETS. YOU ARE SICKER THAT I THOUGHT.

Barack Obama, who lamented Friday that “we have not managed our federal budget with any kind of discipline,” is nonetheless promising to spend $50 billion on a United Nations anti-poverty program that critics say will drive up American debt.

“The short-term weakness in the capital market is a reflection of long-term problems that we have in our economy,” Obama told reporters in Florida. “We have been loading up enormous amounts of debt.”

Yet Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, have pledged tens of billions in new spending on a U.N. program that promises cash to poor countries. The program is one of eight sweeping “Millennium Development Goals” the U.N. adopted in 2000.

“Obama and Biden will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and they will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal,” the candidates vow in their campaign platform.

Johns Hopkins professor Steve Hanke said such spending would merely drive up American debt, while doing almost nothing for the world’s poor.

“It goes down a bureaucratic rat-hole, lining the pockets of people who are connected to the power structure,” said Hanke, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. “It’s basically a system to redistribute income from middle class people in the United States to rich people in poor countries. It never reaches those people who are living on a dollar a day.”

Hanke said such expenditures are especially unwise in the wake of significant expansions of government and spending during President Bush’s tenure.

“We’ve been spending like drunken sailors and making obligations into the future like drunken sailors,” he said. “We’re on an unsustainable path in terms of the fiscal situation in the United States because of massive spending growth and commitments.”

Obama said he wants to curtain at least one of those costly commitments.

“We have spent well over half a trillion dollars — soon to be a trillion dollars — on a war in Iraq, despite the fact that Iraqis are now running surpluses,” the Illinois senator said Friday. “We’re still spending $10 billion a month there.”

But in December, Obama also sponsored the Global Poverty Act which, if passed, would require the president to commit to cutting global poverty in half by 2015. Critics say that would cost American taxpayers $845 billion.

Susan Rice, one of Obama’s top foreign policy advisers, says the U.S. should give 0.7 percent of its Gross Domestic Product to developing nations.

BLACK PROTEST IN FLORIDA AGAINST OBAMA

CORAL GABLES, Florida (AFP) - Around 20 African-Americans heckled Barack Obama at a rally here Friday, screaming chants and holding up placards accusing the White House hopeful of selling out the black community.
As the Democrat, who would be the first African-American US president, spoke, the protestors jumped up from their seats in a corner high up in the University of Miami's basketball arena. One of their signs said: "Barack Obama endorsed by KKK (Ku Klux Klan)."

Daley Served On The Fannie Mae Board And Received Hundreds Of Thousands In Stock Options And Director Fees. Saffir, "In Wealth, Clinton Team Doesn't Look Like America," The Washington Post, 6/24/97)
Former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson Recruited Daley For Fannie Mae. Small, former secretary of the Smithsonian Institution; and William M. Daley, commerce secretary in the Clinton administration." (Lisa Lerer, "Fannie, Freddie Spent $200M To Buy Influence," The Politico, 7/16/08)

McCain: "I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole." Obama Ranks Second Among Donations From Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Among All Members Of Congress Since 1989:

(Johanna Neuman, "Barack Obama Advisor Jim Johnson Quits Under Fire," Los Angeles Times, 6/12/08)
Johnson Remains A Bundler For Obama's Presidential Campaign And Has Committed To Raising $100,000 To $200,000. (Obama For America Website,
www.barackobama.com, Accessed 5/19/08)
In 1998, Fannie Mae's Earnings Were Manipulated, Which Resulted In "Maximum Payouts" To Executives Including CEO Jim Johnson. "As CEO of Fannie Mae, Johnson, a former chief of staff to Vice President Walter F. Mondale and chairman of the board of the Kennedy Center, was the beneficiary of accounting in which Fannie Mae's earnings were manipulated so that executives could earn larger bonuses. The accounting manipulation for 1998 resulted in the maximum payouts to Fannie Mae's senior executives -- $1.9 million in Johnson's case -- when the company's performance that year would have otherwise resulted in no bonuses at all, according to reports in 2004 and 2006 by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight." (Jonathan Weisman and David S. Hilzenrath, "Obama's Choice Of Insider Draws Fire," The Washington Post, 6/11/08)
The Manipulation Resulted In Johnson Receiving A Bonus Of Over $1.9 Million When He Otherwise Would Not Have Earned A Bonus. "An Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight report in September accused the company of improperly deferring $200 million of estimated expenses in 1998, which allowed management to receive full annual bonuses. Had the expenses been recorded that year, no bonuses would have been paid, the report said. Fannie Mae reported paying bonuses in 1998 to Johnson, who received $1.932 million; Raines, who then was chairman-designate, $1.11 million; Chief Operating Officer Lawrence M. Small, $1.108 million; Vice Chairman Jamie S. Gorelick, a former deputy attorney general, $779,625; Chief Financial Officer J. Timothy Howard, $493,750; and Robert J. Levin, who was executive vice president for housing and community development, $493,750." (Albert B. Crenshaw, "High Pay At Fannie Mae For The Well-Connected," The Washington Post, 12/23/04)
Johnson Also Received Fees And Compensation From Fannie Mae Worth $3.3 Million Between 2001 And 2006. "Johnson left the company before it was swept up in an accounting scandal that tarred its reputation, but even during the years of scandal, Johnson was reaping hundreds of thousands of dollars in consulting fees and other compensation, $3.3 million in all between 2001 and 2006." (Jonathan Weisman and David S. Hilzenrath, "Obama's Choice Of Insider Draws Fire," The Washington Post, 6/11/08)
In 1998, Fannie Mae Improperly Deferred $200 Million Dollars In Expenses, Which Allowed Johnson To Receive Nearly $2 Million In Bonuses; Johnson Would Not Have Received A Bonus If The Money Had Been Properly Expensed. Levin, who was executive vice president for housing an d community development, $493,750." (Albert B. Crenshaw, "High Pay At Fannie Mae For The Well-Connected," The Washington Post, 12/23/04)
In 1998, Johnson, Then-CEO Of Fannie Mae, Hosted The Opening Ceremony Of A Lobbying Office In Oklahoma. "The concern is whether such efforts were made to bolster Fannie's business more than to advance philanthropic goals. Critics say the foundation helped to reinforce ties with various congressional groups forged by Fannie's in-house lobbyists. At times the two seemed indistinguishable: They often sponsored events in tandem. Both were big donors to the CBCF's annual awards gala in 2003 and a similar black-tie event for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in 2002. In 1998, then-CEO Jim Johnson hosted the opening ceremony of a lobbying and public relations office in Oklahoma, an event attended by former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and then-Senator Don Nickles (R-Okla.). But wearing his other hat as the foundation's chairman, Johnson al so took the opportunity to announce $125,000 worth of grants to local charities." (Dawn Kopecki, "Philanthropy, Fannie Mae Style," Business Week, 4/2/07)
Obama Solicits Advice From Former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines Who Was "Under The Shadow Of A $6.3 Billion Accounting Scandal":
The Obama Campaign Has Solicited Franklin Raines, Who "Stepped Down As Fannie Mae's Chief Executive Under The Shadow Of A $6.3 Billion Accounting Scandal," For Advice On Mortgage And Housing Policy. "In the four years since he stepped down as Fannie Mae's chief executive under the shadow of a $6.3 billion accounting scandal, Franklin D. Raines has been quietly constructing a new life for himself. He has shaved eight points off his golf handicap, taken a corner office in Steve Case's D.C. conglomeration of finance, entertainment and health-care companies and more recently, taken calls from Barack Obama's presidential campaign seeking his advice on mortgage and housing policy matters." (Anita Huslin, "On The Outside Now, Watching Fannie Falter," The Washington Post, 7/16/08)
Like Jim Johnson, Raines Received Low-Rate Home Loans From Countrywide, A Major Seller To Fannie Mae. "Fannie Mae's former CEO, Jim Johnson, resigned Wednesday as the leader of likely Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama's search for a running mate after The Wall Street Journal reported that he and another former CEO, Franklin Raines, received low-rate home loans from troubled mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corp. a major seller of home loans to Fannie Mae." (Alan Zibel, "Fannie Mae CEO Says Ethics Policy Bans Discounts," The Associated Press, 6/12/08)
Former Fannie Mae Chairman Frank Raines Was Accused Of Manipulating The Company's Earnings. "Former Fannie Mae chairman and chief executive Franklin D. Raines, accused of manipulating the housing finance company's earnings, is challenging regulators to make their case against him beginning Feb. 16 instead of waiting until the end of the year." (David S. Hilzenrath, "Fannie Mae's Former Chief Wants Earlier Hearing Date," The Washington Post, 2/6/07)
Raines Was Forced Out As Fannie Mae's CEO In December 2004. "Former chief executive Franklin D. Raines and chief financial officer J. Timothy Howard were forced out Tuesday night after accounting mistakes that could cost Fannie $9 billion in reported profit." (David S. Hilzenrath, "Fannie Mae Exit Packages Face Review," The Washington Post, 12/23/04)
Under Raines' Leadership, Fannie Mae Committed "Extensive Financial Fraud" And Was Forced To Pay A $400 Million Civil Penalty. "In a May report, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight found that Fannie Mae under Raines perpetrated 'extensive financial fraud' so that executives could collect big bonuses. There have been no criminal charges, but the conduct of Raines and other senior Fannie executives 'was inconsistent with the values of responsibility, accountability, and integrity,' the agencies said. Fannie paid a $400 million civil penalty this year to the SEC and OFHEO." (Jay Hancock, Op-Ed, "Raines Claiming Accountability Isn't Enough," The [Baltimore] Sun, 12/10/06)

Barack Obama is a liar !! HOW SHAMEFUL !

A Connection Barack Obama Doesn't Want the American People to Know About
While Senator Barack Obama has been on the campaign trail this week telling voters that John McCain is beholden to greedy corporate executives, he has forgotten to tell those same voters the truth about his record.
With the exception of Senator Chris Dodd, Barack Obama has received more money from mortgage giant Fannie Mae during his three years in office than any other politician in the United States has received in the company's entire history. Senator Obama talks a lot about not taking money from lobbyists, but he d oes not seem to mind taking record sums of cash from corrupt corporate executives at Fannie Mae. The truth is that Obama holds these greedy corrupt executives in such high regard that he decided to have one of them, Jim Johnson, lead his search for finding a vice presidential running mate.

Obama's Ties to Fannie Mae Run Deep
The American people are paying a huge price to bailout Fannie Mae. Corporate executives at Fannie Mae and other companies have violated the trust of the American people, and yet Barack Obama is willing and eager to take their money and involve them deeply in the affairs of his campaign. Simply put, the American people deserve better.
John McCain has a 25 year track record of fighting for the American people and taking on special interests. John McCain has taken on tobacco companies; John McCain has taken on the pharmaceutical industry; John McCain has ta ken on Washington lobbyists; and now John McCain is ready to take on the greed of corporate executives and Wall Street.
Debate Watching Parties
We're in the midst of a busy fall season with just under 50 days left until Election Day. The first presidential debate will be held next Friday, September 26th at the University of Mississippi. After months of refusing to hold joint town hall meetings with John McCain, Senator Obama will finally have to face John McCain one-on-one.

McCain, in Congress for 26 years to Obama's four, has the longer record of producing bipartisan alliances on tough issues. He has bucked his party again and again to do just that-- on immigration, federal judges and campaign finance, to name three on which he enraged many Republicans by defying the party position and working with Democrats.
